Since they live on ice floes, which float, I suspect they had no idea that anything out of the ordinary was occuring.

First, the Flood (capatilized for clarification) was not "in" the Ark; the Ark floated atop the flood waters. As only two of every kind was loaded onto the Ark, the others would have been drown.

It's interesting you pick those two, since they are oftened paired in cartoons, commericals, etc., but in nature never encounter each other; the bear is Northern Hemisphere and the penguin is Southern.

See, this is why I'm not a Christian anymore.

Not only that, but world's getting repopulated again after the great flood wipes out the wicked. Noah’s family members are the only people left on earth? More incestual orgies!! And don't forget, all the races of the earth have to come from Noah and his family now.

And damn, that must have been kind of hard to fit every single kind of animal on his boat too. There are thousands and thousand of species so, it probably took a while to round up all the different elephants, polar bears, poisonous snakes, penguins, tigers, etc. Must have been especially hard to find a penguin in the Middle East.

The guys who invented the Noah tale didn't know about polar bears and penguins - or kangaroos and opossums and all the animals that lived in other parts of the world. If they had, I'm sure they would have invented a divine freezer for the ice lovers and miraculous stories to explain the rest.

All of the animals on the ark were freeze dried before they were fedexed to Noah. The shippers wrapped them in cellophane wrappers. All Noah had to do was let the fedex agents bring the cellohane packets on board. When it stopped raining Noah just threw the packets overboard and they floated to their destinations. When they washed up on the beaches the rocks tore open the packets and the water rushed in, inflating them back to their original size. During the trip Noah got short of food and had to eat a few of the packets. This is why the dinosaurs became extinct.

Hey, if a polar bear can live happily in the climate of San Diego, why would an ark pose a problem.

They did'nt. The story of the flood is just that, a story.
Just like the rest of the "wholly babble" it's nothing more than mythology.
