a pit bull and a bull terrier are 2 completely different breeds. a "statfordshire bull terrier" is more commonly known as a pit bull. a bull terrier is the spud makenzie type dog. totally different.
the dog in thwe target ads is the smaller and more docile bull terrier. terriers are very high energy so be prepared for long walks and endless nights of playing ball.

it's a bull terrier. And unlike someone previous said they are NOT pit bulls! "pit bull" is a broad term used to mean any of a variety of large breed dogs, it is a deragatory term. The actual breed is called American Pit Bull Terrier, and they are great dogs, friendly, loving, loyal. They have a bad rep because every time there is a dog bite the media claims it was a "pit bull" when usually it isn't. And the APBTs that are mean is because they are trained to behave like that, just like with any breed of dog, you can train them to be friendly or mean.

I believe it's a Bull Terrier. More commonly knows as a pit bull. Gen. George patton had one in WW II. If you get one as a puppy and raise it right it won't get mean as the name suggests.
