How old does it take to get credited back to your ATM monies that the ATM said were taken out, but weren't? In other words, the money did not come out of the ATM, but it was debited from my account.

There's no specific amount of time because it all depends on the situation itself and the bank. ATM machines have camera and keep electronic records of every single transaction. Before money is credited back to you, the bank will want to do a thorough investigation.

However, majority of these are resolved in a relatively short period of time, say within 30 days.

Call your bank and file a Regulation E claim now. This will credit the money back to your account while the investigation is being done.

At the bank I work for, you'd fill out a transaction dispute (disputing the fact that the machine said that it gave you cash, but never dispensed any). Here we would give you credit within a day or two.

i am guessing you are trying to say that you purchase something with your debit card and got a refund? if so, you should get it the amount of time that they got the money out of your account.
