If you like me are a Realist (which I wholeheartedly support in favor of the religious slur Atheist) then one thing has become clearly apparent to me and it is because of this site that it has. I asked a question about speaking to a dying child from an Atheists perspective-I couldn't believe how many of you responded hatefully like I was a Christian-that was what the whole "I Caught You" thing was about-I have been bashing Religions on here and lost one of my preceding names "BuckarQQ" because I was reported and Yahoo wiped me out-but and never-the-less-We realists are losing ground and to these extreme religious types that are united and why? Because they have a place to meet-like church or somewhere else where they can gain their monetary support to push and promote their beliefs-Where do we Realists meet? Here on Yahoo ? and Answers because of our deliberity affinity to the way this world is being sent down the tubes by fanatical ideas-We Need to organize-or someone tell mewehave!

We meet in labs, school, libraries, and centers of thought and information etc. Atheism is more a form of evolution, because you have to come to it to think on your own so you can't effectively convert people. They must think on their own. Christians took over Rome which controlled the civilized world. Then they spread their beliefs, even after Rome fell. They still had power, and came to lead many governments because in the dark ages people needed religion to feel good. They did the spreading of the Gospel when in power, by killing, torturing, and scaring nonbelievers into Christianity. If they were not in power in places, they tried to take over with crusades, Inquisitions, and invasions of all sorts. That is how they took over Europe, and Europe took over and colonized the new world. The colonists were religious, and they converted the natives. So then they had power in Europe, and the western hemisphere. Most governments made you follow their religions, until America allowed freedom of religion, and that took power from the established religions in power, so the governments needed other ways to control citizens. So the Christians/ other religions controlled the media, and made the public see them as good, riotous, and the victims of persecution (people peacefully saying no, I have my own beliefs). So, most are religious because their parents were, and so on, or the media (including yahoo) converted them. So it is too hard to fight all of that. All we can do is give the facts, and let them wake up or not. This is the tip of the iceberg, but the basic idea is that we can not start crusading, because we really don't have as much freedom as we think. (don't say that you have several accounts, because it is against the rules).

We are not losing we are winning. Remember few hundreds of years ago we would be tortured and killed by peace loving Christians. This does not happenes anymore and we are growing. THey are losing big but they will deny it.
Its just a matter of time before they all will be gone.
While Religion was in power the world did not progress a bit. Till 1800's we did not gain any knolwedge or advances. Only after ppl break up from church we got where we are right now.

If Christians still would be in power we still would have 1 less rib for male and earth still would be flat.
Thank god jesus is only for Christians and not for normal ppl.

Have you notice that internet became bigger than any church in the world, even if all churches combine togheter. Soon church will be absolete.
And yes internet was created by normal humans and not christians so this is place for us. And we just let them to be here so they can amuse us with thier own devine stupidity.
Therefore GOD create stupidity so it can be greatest gift to primitive ppl.

I greatly fear religion because the only thing they have more of, besides hate, fear, lack of acceptance, gross sense of superiority, and a "free pass" to do anything, is organization. Since there is strength in numbers, when so many religious people get together and get organized, they can do anything. Add to that their influence in government, schools, the legal system, and business, they are absolutely terrifying!

I like your term "Realist." I still use Atheist because it doesn't need explaining and seems to automatically put people on their defense so I can see the "real" them faster.

We're losing our world because the world and the world's cultures are "evolving" (meaning growing and changing) as science and understanding expands, while so many are stuck in the religious past of the 1,600s and are using modern technology to propagate their ancient views and intolerance. Humans should continue to learn, expand, ask questions, and embrace change. Religion teaches people to only accept a very narrow view of things and to not change at any cost. It's very sad and very frustrating.

You have but to go to Ezboard and congregate. But to what end?

In the end you are saying, you either don't know ( which is the honest answer ) or that you die and that's it. So enjoy the ride as long as you can.

If you are aware of prophecy in the Bible, that is the hardest thing to refute. There are dates that are accredited to the writings that are before the events. and the events are usually impuned as being unclear. But are they really? Hmmmm?

I'll be back tonight with all likelyhood. ( California time)

A Christian Realist.

Plenty of groups = issue is Apathy. harder for us to have a social conscience due to the fact each of us is more of an individual and less of a sheep.

Anywho... Run a search for national Atheists and your gonna come up with a million+ groups. ....

Religeons by their nature are if nothing else a powerful organizing force. Something we do not have.

And you know..most of hte wars are all based on religion..so how is it such a good thing..

Im not a Christian basher or anything like that..Im extremely open to everything...BUT from the begining of time..it seems that religion has caused nothing but conflict all in the name of God...it frustrates me to no end that people can't get along because of differences in beliefs....grr to them..grr I say.

HAHAHA. You're a loser. no one cares about your life story, i wont even spare playing the world's smallest violin on you. And why would atheists need a place to meet-religious folk meet to praise God Almighty. Why would ya'll meet once or more a week for?

You rather overstate your case. Tone it down and learn to communicate clearly and succinctly. The only acceptable response to the fundamentalist's nonsense is to speak, clearly and concisely, the truth. We need cooperation to survive, but we will never arrive at a common ground through name-calling and ridicule.

But, as always, the choice is yours. I'll explain stuff as best I can if you have questions.
