My boyfriend and I have been dating for about a year now and I really do love him so much. He's my everything. I wanted to talk to him about love because it really hasn't come up before. I always felt that if I feel something I should say it. When it got brought up we ended up fighting about it. He said that he shows the way he feels for me he doesn't want to say I love you because I make him nervous and he has never said it before. That he just wants to be happy. It's sweet in one way but in another he doesn't want change and I feel like its not going to progress anymore. My friends are kind of shocked he hasn't said it yet. He does not talk about his feelings at all. He says thats just not the way he is. Here I am with a guy who can show but cant tell. Now thats not normal. Most guys can never show? Am I doing something wrong? Rushing it maybe? Help!

Honestly I'm the same way... I show affection but I dont always tell the girl I'm with. But this isnt good because girls need to hear it every now and then.
When I was with my g/f she was actually the first to tell me that she loved me and it kind of broke the ice... I thought it was kinda cool. So I say if YOU feel it, then YOU should say it. Just pick the right moment. After a while he should warm up to telling you that he loves you. I can't promise you that he'll say it all the time or maybe as much as you want him to but at least it's a start. If you want to hear it more often then I say give lots of positive reinforcements whenever he does say it (i.e. kisses or the cool things you girls do)

I see his point of view. I have never liked hearing it because too many people use it a line. I have had too many people claim love but did not show it. I would much rather someone show it than say it. As long as he is treating you well, do not push it. When he finally does say it, then at least you will know that he actually means it.

From what I read you actions match your emotions.
Congrats, this is wonderful.
How ever you boyfriend can’t show love but not say it?
If some one’s actions and emotions don’t match this is bad.
I would reconsider his answer. Ask him calmly and give him time to think on why he can’t tell you he loves you.
Was he abused in some way?
I would say counseling for you both.

Just tell him how you feel, love should never be forced or fought, the only way you can learn to love 100% is to put yourself out there 100%.

men are like that. they dotn lik eto say things becaus ethat makes it ultamately true an dfinal and that can be overwhelming. if hedoes things that shows how much he cares and you both agree its because of love words shuldnt matter.
if your the kind of person who say swhat they feel go for it. just say it. so its out in the open and he knows.
