I've started taking lessons in a old Cessna 150. It was bumpy as hell yesterday but a great high. It's not as hard as most think, and you don't have to rich to take lessons.

Very true... The flying part generally comes pretty easily. The good judgment is the part that a lot of people have trouble with. And that is the key to being a safe pilot.

The FAR/AIM is a great place to start looking for answers to most aviation questions. You seem new to this, and a word of advice, start asking your instructor what to study out of it as soon as possible, as it makes it easier when it comes check ride time...

Congratulations, and good luck.

Ok, this a misconception that people usually think. Yes it is easy to fly, easy to turn the yoke left or right, but flying is more then taking off, climbing, cruising, descending, and landing. You need to know everything you can and more about what is going on. You're obviously new, i recommend reading the FAR/AIM and putting everything you can to memory. I say good luck to you, but learn as much as you can so you don't become a hazard to the other pilots in the air, and on the ground. Thank you.

I plan on starting my lessons when I move in January....my goal is to learn to fly fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft with the intent of starting my own aviation business after I retire from the Air Force. Keep on flying, civil aviation needs as many supporters as it can muster.
