Exactly. This is one of the reasons why I don't believe in the bible anymore.

First of all, let's start at the beginning. Does anyone really believe that someone wasn't going to mess up at SOME point in the Garden of Eden?! That someone wasn’t going to bite the forbidden fruit at some point or curse or lie or something? Or question why a mischevious snake was talking to them? Additionally, who exactly was recording this stuff since Adam and Eve were the only people around at that point? It’s a made up parable designed to keep people from asking too many questions in Christianity. Patriarchial religious leaders also saw it as a way to keep women subservient.

Additionally, how is it even possible that we all ascended from Adam & Eve? Who had sex with whom? I've heard two theories.. one about "The others" in the land of Nod whom their children married. Which makes no sense since Adam & Eve are supposedly the first people who were created and that all people on this earth came from them (including every single race from Eskimo to Aborigines)

I've also heard the incest theory, that their children simply married each other and that brothers and sisters had to be husband and wives to each other. Still, how do you explain such a variation of races and cultures and such if we all descend from Adam & Eve? Most Christians believe that humans were created about 6 thousand years old (never mind that dinosaur bones are millions of years old). Even if all the races of the world were caused by genetic mutations or variations of some sort, it would take a lot longer than 5-6 thousand years to have all these races exist. It’s not even scientifically possible anyway for two people to create all the races of the world.

Noah’s Ark: So, ok, the world's getting repopulated again after the great flood wipes out the wicked. Noah’s family members are the only people left on earth? More incestual orgies!! And don't forget, all the cultures and races of the earth have to come from Noah and his family now. And damn, that must have been kind of hard to fit every single kind of animal on his boat too. There are thousands and thousand of species so, it probably took a while to round up all the different elephants, polar bears, poisonous snakes, penguins, tigers, etc. Must have been especially hard to find a penguin in the Middle East.

I could go on and on but I won't. See why I am no longer a Christian? Common sense, people!!

I'll try to help you here- It is believed that: In the beginning of time man and women were perfect and able to reproduce with one another. Incest was not a bad thing. It was the only way to procreate. We were a pure race without any toxin, diseases to cause the issues that incest causes today. That is why incest is not acceptable today (well actually it is legal for relatives 3rd cousin or beyond.) It is unacceptable today because of all the birth defects, mental issues that it causes. As time goes by and more and more generations are born we become further from are pure and natural point of creation. Its also not necessary now. The reason we speak different languages are found in the Bible. It began at the Tower of Babel. Man was trying to build a temple to heaven to supersede God. So God divided them and confused their tongue so they were unable to work together. Splitting them to all areas of the earth. Once the split occurred and people moved to different areas - I believe that is when the different "races" began. Also remember that a day to God is a thousand years to us. So he created animals and that was like a thousand years- or more- plenty of time for dinosaurs. Caveman- same concept. Nobody said Adam and Eve weren't cave men. That absolutely could have happened after leaving the garden of Eden. Today we draw pictures of them as standing erect and being what society considers beautiful and ideal. Just because somebody has drawn them this way doesn't mean that they didn't look a little different. Or perhaps cavemen are the only fossils we have found and just maybe we haven't discovered all there is to be found in the past. They could be descendants of Adam and Eve. What we know today is not all that there is to know about the past, present, or future.

At the time there was no such idea of incest. It was allowed by God for Brother and Sister to marriage and have children until there were enough persons for everyone to be able to choose a spouse. In the beginning people didn't get an "icky" feeling from marrying a brother or sister.

The only think they could do was to have a good old fashion family orgy. When the Adam/eve thing was made, people thought incest was OK, and most did not even think about things like we do, they had a different mindset.

Well, we are all products of incest!

however, the gene pool divided
0
00
0000
0xx0000
0xx0000000000000
0xx00000000000000000000000000000000000
0xx00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

by looking at this model you can see how the loger it went on the more diluted the gene pool got

the xx kids would be missing all the other genes and their bodies would break down quicker.

it takes generations for this to become a problem so God make the commandment when it was time o stop for the betterment of man!

An excellent question.
You'll get many apologisitic answers along the lines of "god did'nt stop creating humans with adam and eve you know" despite the fact that there is NO evidence of this in the bible.
Mythology really is stupid isn't it?

nobody can say definitively (except God) that they were the ONLY two people at that time.

the book of Genesis follows the ancestory of one man (adam) and his family. in the book, it even makes reference to cain taking a wife from elsewhere.

i do not know if God is against incest. just as slaves of that period of time were more servant than slave, incest as a form of procreation without the sin of forcing oneself on another, might (might) be acceptable to the Lord. in fact, if he said to procreate, and there were only the two people and their children, then there were would no choice.

God created Eve to be Adam's wife not his sister. But if you look at the book of Genesis, there are lot of stories of interfamily breeding such as the sisters who got their father drunk and slept with him and they got pregnant. Thing that make you say hmmm!
