I can't believe that there would be any question about
Da Vinci's talent! The man was a master painter, a scientist, and an inventor, in addition to being a true genius. His work in the sciences and math were way before their time.

Leonardo Da vinci is so famous for other things other than painting, and his paintings are such icons to the point of being 'kitsch', it's easy to overlook the fact that he WAS a great painter. If he'd only ever painted he would still be just as famous as he is now. Perhaps he would have done more painting and be considered even greater!

He is responsible for perfecting the art of painting in the renaissance more than any other artist. if you compare any other close contemporary the difference between him and them is astonishing.

Master painter, of course!

I actually got to see the Sistine Chapel and the ceiling he painted many years ago... Wow! He did beautiful work and I'm not even taking into consideration he had less art supplies at his disposal the way modern painters do today.

If you need decent information just ask nicely.
