when registering dog names, most people incorporate some part of the parent's names... or something from the dog's ancestry. because the history of the dachsund breed is central european, it should be easy to find something "medieval"... you could also google the origins of the name Harley, and find something related to that. good luck.

My basset hound's registered name is Ms Scarlet's Sweet Beau Sir Harley, and I call him Harley. It's a combination of my name, his sire's name and the fact that we (my boyfriend and I ) both ride Harley Davidson motorcycles. Oh yeah and I'm a nurse and he's a petroleum Eng. neither of us have any tattoo's or have ever been "lifers"

I like the Harlequin idea, which you can fancy up even MORE if you like - say Harliquin Knight or Harlequin Jester.
or you could go on the idea of motercycles being called "steel Horses" say Steel Horse Knight or Knight on a Steel Horse, or humm how many letter in the kennel name? that last may run you into overlong name problems
