When I was born (23 years agos) I had a metal braclet placed on my leg by the doctors in the hospital. When thay took it off the metal had peirsed my skin and left a purple mark. My mother told the doctors and they said it would go away, but it didn't. The thing is that it has grown about 5cm and it hurts most of the time. I want to get it check, but I am afraid of knowing that something is really wrong like having skin cancer or something. If I do dicide to check it can I sew the hospital for all the years that I have had of pain and suffering? Please help. you can e-mail me at tazz_69_01@yahoo.com
Thanks

Regardless of a lawsuit, you should have it checked out. If it turns out to be something more than a "mark", it is far better to catch it early and treat it. You should be more concerned about your health than a lawsuit.

If it is something harmful, and was caused by the ankle bracelet, then you can sue (not "sew"). You will need to find a "Personal Injury" lawyer, and do your research to make sure he/she is reputable. So many PI lawyers are sharks, just out for the money, it is hard to find a reputable one.

Read contracts VERY carefully, and don't be pressured in to signing anything. The lawyers will tell you that you don't have to pay them unless they win in court, and then you will have to pay a percentage of the winnings/settlement. The sharks will want a VERY high percentage of your win, while an attorney who is really looking out for your best interest will be reasonable.

Most importantly, go to the doctor now- your health should be your first concern. Winning a lawsuit won't mean anything to you if you are sick, or worse.....

Best wishes

Get it checked first and foremost. As for you suing, I'm not sure what state you're in but most of them have this thing called a "2-year litigation." Basically, it means that you have two years from the date the event happened to file a lawsuit. But I could be wrong on this since I'm sure there's something in there that exempts medical incidents, giving it a time anywhere from two years to infinite. Ask any civil lawyer over the phone and they'll give you advice for free (they will, however, try to get your business but shop around). Good luck.

There is probably some statute of limitation which has run out.
Sounds to me like you have a skin problem. You just want it to be secondary to some bracelet the hospital put so you can sue them and get some money. Why dont you get a job?

Why haven't you showed it to a doctor over the last 23 years? Yes, you can probably sue someone. Start writing down any significant moments where the pain inhibited you and how often you have pain everyday.

No, you cannot sue (not sew) the hospital. You would need to sue the doctor. The purple is probably scar tissue and nothing to be worried about.
