I have an older model Kenwood KACX301T amp. I cant seem to find the manual for it anywhere. All the lights are on but no sound. I did notice that the BMI light is red. I have no idea what that is or if has something to do with why my bass is not knocking. Any ideas?

That usually means that the output stage in the amplifier is blown up. I would double check my RCA's from the radio to the amp to make sure there not bad, and also check the output of the radio, most of the time if the inside speakers are working the low levl (RCA) outputs are fine.If all checks out well than you know the output stage is blown. Around these parts most repair facilities charge around $125.00 for a repair. You will have to weigh the options as the amp is older (approximately 5years) and you should be able to find something maybe not as clean but at least close to the power of that one. For around the same money

Sounds like the protection circuit has detected a fault like DC voltage on the outputs or the circuit that closes the relay is bad.

Check for DC at the output transistors - if there is none, you could shut the relay and see if you get sound.
