Fudge is a candy that comes in lots of flavors. Chocolate is one flavor -- but you can get Vanilla Fudge (also the name of a 1960s rock group) or Maple Sugar Fudge. I like to think of Fudge as Cheese made with sugar instead of salt.

Ok, Ok, that was uncalled for. Fudge is a desert, that comes in brown sugar or chocolate flavors. Chocolate is an ingredient to add to deserts for flavor.
Fudge is a type of desert like cookies, or cake.
Chocolate is an enhancement for deserts, like choco. chip cookies, or chocolate topped sundaes, choco. cake...etc.
