Before I got saved I thought the meaning of life was to bring chaos to as many people as I could, but I know different now. I am a child of the King and I am to live my life to serve Him. I should do whatever He calls me to do. The bible says you cannot serve to masters, so I know since I got saved I am to serve Jesus Christ till my life ends upon this earth.

Just a thought... but if God is all powerful and so on and so forth... Why does God need people to worship him? Or serve him, for that matter? Why should God care if Humanity knows of his glory?
I mean, if God is so great, what need has God for humanity at all?
Sounds like if we're only here to serve him, then our lives are nothing more than slave labour.
What need for slaves does an all powerful being have?
Just a few thoughts.

Why does an omnipotent omnicient omnipresent being need puny hairless apes to serve him or "bring him glory"? Why does he want glory anyway? He sounds more like a paranoid human ruler looking for affirmation than he does a perfect creator.

i am a christian, and i find it gratifying that the Lord seeks my service.
not as a slave, but as one who is offered the chance to excel in this world, and all i have to do is believe in my creator and His Son, as my saviour.
there is no disgrace in service. i serve the Lord, ask His forgiveness when i fail, ask for the strength to do better, etc.
as a soldier in the army, i do the will and bidding of my leaders, even though i may not understand the "big" picture. i have even been at odds with my leaders as to whether we should be "there" or not. but the truth is: i took an oath to serve them and as long as they do not openly defy God, i will continue to serve.
why do people think it is an insult to glorify God and to serve Him? the giving of oneself to the Allmighty is not a curse, it is a blessing that has rewards that i have read and studied, but still have trouble comprhending them, because they are so great.
sounds better than having to beleive the only once in a lifetime event of evolution happend twice, in order for humans to become what we are.

Not exactly .... in some cases it is God who needs to serve us
we should not try and do the job He wants to do for us.
"the Son of man has not come to be served but to serve and to give His life an atonement for sin" Mark 8:45
so first we let God serve us as redeemer.... then in reponse... serve him out of love and enjoyment of his truth...
just as they say you are what you eat... you become (more like) what you worship in a small sense at least (for good or for bad)
why do we worship God... it is not selfishness on God's part... our ultimate and highest happiness is tied up in worshiping God. The highest joys and the greatest adventure is in worship ofGod and knowing him ... in heaven discoving worshiping and enjoying God wil be the inexaustable adventure that never ends or gets tiring

We were made by God...for God. The purpose of our life is far greater than our own personal fulfillment, our peace of mind, or even our own happiness. Its far greater than our families or career, or even our wildest dreams and ambitions. Although these things are important, we were ultimately born by His purpose and for His purpose.
We bring glory to God by telling others about Him, by knowing Him and loving Him, serving others, by becoming like Christ, and by loving other people in God's family

But we serve God by helping to do His works: helping the sick and indigent, comforting the bereaved, visiting the prisons.
But if I crow about it, any "interest" I save up in the Virtue Bank is negated, because I am doing this for the wrong reason.
I help others with no thought for myself.

Well how do you know that? I think you're being too arrogant to put that as THE truth. And you're being too narrow-minded to ask only Christians to answer. What? Other people might change your mind? And you don't want to shake your innermost convictions, even if they were wrong?
The meaning of life is to look for the truth, not to settle for some tailor-made lame answer. Please, grow up.

That would be silly, why would he need us down here? I personally believe that the Human race is Fluke, not having to do with the God and Goddess at all. But the God and Goddess took pity on us, so they helped us out.
