Someone already suggested "Wicca, a Guide for the solitary practitioner" and that's a great place to start. I'd recommend avoiding books by Silver Ravenwolf -- and be very careful what you believe.
There are a lot of idiots out there.
Check out www.paganforums.com to talk with some knowledgable and experienced as well as newbie pagans and Wiccans. That's honestly the best way to learn.
If that goes well, you may want to look for a local study group. Try www.witchvox.org for help finding other locals with similar beliefs.
Best of luck.

Two of the best I've read so far is Wicca and Living Wicca by Scott Cunningham. Even though both books are really geared towards a solitary Wicca, they have alot of good info for the beginner.

I requested that question approximately 7 yrs in the past and that i went to the library and located a e book that in comparison Christianity with Wicca and ended up chosing Jesus and that i'm hoping you will do the comparable. Wicca seems solid, i understand yet its no longer the suggestions-blowing way, all people who does sorcery or witchcraft can enter the dominion of God. you think of u are doing some thing empowering and organic yet its an previous lie it is often around attempting to get human beings provide up their souls to eternal darkness...it has the visual allure of light even nonetheless that's dying. God bless u, im praying for u and that i'm hoping u will pay attention to what im saying and that i in my opinion care approximately you getting counseled and see for your self.

"Wicca for the solitary practitioner" by Scott Cunningham is the book that many of us started with. I would also suggest "Wicca" by Vivianne Crowley. If you are ever interested in a coven or study group, I would suggest "Covencraft" by Amber K. Best Wishes

Start on the web, as with any religion... there are a lot of nuts out there. You will most likely get them posting on this trying to 'save your soul' and crap like that. Best of luck.
You will also get the 'blessed be' ers as well. Remember religion is one thing, spirituality is quite another.

idk, but yesterday on lifetime i watched this movie about a girl who was American Indian and she was accused of being a witch, this happened after Columbine. It was a true story and i remember I saw the girl carrying around some Wiccan book but I don't know the title. Try amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com.
