I have heard many things from aliens to an earthquake. How in the world can someone part the red sea ? Isn't that something kind of extreme to believe ?

It's mythology. Nothing more.

Trying to cross the Red Sea would be horrendously difficult. If you read the bible in the original Hebrew, the word 'red' is mistranslated. In the Hebrew bible Moses and his people cross the 'yam suph' - the Sea of Reeds. The Reed Sea is a shallow reed swamp of maybe two or three meters maximum of water.

Leading tsunami expert Professor Costas Synolakis believes a massive volcanic eruption on the Greek island of Santorini in 1600BC could have generated a giant tidal wave that struck the Nile Delta. This incredibly powerful wave could be linked to the parting of a reed sea inn the delta that could explain how the story of the Red Sea parting into two walls of water was written centuries later.

I heard that Red Sea is a mistranslation of Sea of Reeds. Moses lead them through a marsh and the Egyptians couldn't follow them in the chariots.

I think the story is less captivating that way.

Charleton Heston also wouldn't have looked so cool wading through a swamp.

You think that's extreme? Not too long before that one, God wiped out all the firstborn of the Egyptians. Cool, huh? All these kids, just sleeping and zap! dead as door-nails! A real sweetie, that old Yahweh was.

And the water thing? No prob! (Why he couldn't just stop the Egyptians is another question. You can part the sea but you can't tell the horses to turn back, or lose their way? Hey, it's a God thing.)

Moses had great faith and was commanded to take the children of Israel across the Red Sea. It was done by faith. The elements obeyed the command of God. First, Moses had to put his foot forth into the water, it was only parted after he did this. Like faith, it required action on the part of the person seeking the miracle.

God gave Moses the power to part the Red Sea. It is an act of God. Just accept it faithfully.

Yes, I heard it was a mistranslation also. It is the Sea of Reeds and has already been corrected in new bibles. This wasn't a real ocean but a muddy marsh and their chariots got stuck in the mud.

God parted the sea but Moses's faith in God played the most important part

God parted the red sea for him.

In a boat. Truthfully, there was no moses, and the only way anyone could have done it, was if they found a massive sandbar at low tide.
