A Christian is a witness to God because they have experienced His Reality. Not someone who is all knowing and can explain all questions.

Christian, you are not expected to know everything about the Bible, just to witness to what it has taught you through the Spirit.

Well, I would gladly take a picture of God for you scientists, but you haven't come up with a camera yet that can take pictures of the spirit realm. So it's not my fault.

Good point- Christians aren't perfect, we're just doing the best we can and trying to follow God doesn't give us an all access pass into endless knowledge.

Maybe because so many run around telling everyone they have the "Truth" and refuse to listen to others, even in a civil discussion. So, in turn, non's expect full explanations of God, the Bible, etc... If a few would have the guts to say "I don't know" when asked a tough question, instead of just spitting verses of damnation at people, they might have a bit more respect than what they have.

And, you know, witness means you saw it yourself. Reading the bible does not make you a witness to those events

I expect that when someone makes a decision as important as their spirituality and soul destiny, that it would be an informed one, one that was thought through and that they would fully understand what it is that they are standing up for, or representing or living or dying for. And I also expect that when someone questions them, well I don't expect them to answer or defend themselves, but they would consider the questions and find the answer and be certain that they have made the right choices, for themselves...not for the benefit of the questioner. If you are going to live by the Bible, then you better know what it is you are living by. It makes no sense to me when someone swears that they live by the Bible and have no idea of the content that's in it, or what half the stuff in there means, or where the stuff came from, the history of how it came about. Or even understand how it came to be interpreted in the way that it has been interpreted. I think that that is important to know if you are going to base your life on it.

By people who exactly are you referring to? If you are talking about scientists and sceptics of the bible, they are merely saying "show me the evidence". There is evidence of evolution. Whereas, the bible says the earth was created less than 10,000 years ago and it was created in 7 days. Science has revealed evidence to show how long the earth has existed.

As a christian, you experience the power of group solidarity. But, when it boils down to it, each individual choses to believe in God based on faith. Faith is defined as "belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence". This is why most scientists are skeptical of God. Science is all about disproving theories using empirical evidence. There is no empirical evidence to prove the existence of God.

I dont understand how you can say a Christian is a witness to God? If you really could witness him, why not capture it in a photograph and show the world to prove us scientists wrong!

If you understand the bible then you should be able to answer questions about it. If you wittiness god, then why have I not seen pictures? I don't need you to explain anything, because you can't, because your beliefs contradict fact, sanity, logic, and themselves. I would get a more reasonable explanation of the universe from a 2 year old. I ask questions to mess with you people, and see how you react to contradictions to your beliefs found in your beliefs.

I think what you’re facing is the backlash from Christians who parade around saying that they have THE TRUTH, THE ONLY TRUTH and that everyone else is WRONG. Which a lot of folks fine kind of irritating. But I digress.

When folks put themselves up on a pedestal it’s only natural for other people, who feel that they have THE TRUTH (which is different), to want to knock them off. So they try to poke holes in each others belief system.

True humility is a rare virtue. Nuff Said

Mainly, I think, is because they are searching and don't know how to go about it. As a Christian, I strive to answer any question about God and the Bible as honestly as it has been taught to me and learning from Sunday School, and above all read the Bible.

Anyone who goes around claiming to have knowledge they obviously don't have, is going to get called on the carpet. A better question than asking why they get called on the carpet is to ask why the Christians don't simply respond with "I don't know, and it doesn't matter that I don't know" when that's the reality, instead of making up a bunch of crap.

Some are truly interested, others are just being snide. Give the same message whether they are interested or snide because you are a Christian and have the love of the Lord in your life. The ones that are being snide are listening too.

It is the same as when the scholars tried to trip up Jesus with their questions. They don't really want an answer, they just want you to say something so they can debate with you. I often think of the verse that talks about casting your pearls before swine, and holiness before pigs. We are asked to be witnesses of the truth, which we are.
