Yes, the first thing you always need to do when a burn occurs is to stop the burning process. This is done by adding either cold (like ice) or simply pouring water on it. It's just as hot underneath it as it is on top, so cooling it off quickly helps minimize the damage, and the pain. I'm almost positive if you would have put ice on the place you burned yourself, or even under a faucet, you may have not even blistered. The old myth, about putting butter on it or a cream right after is actually the worse thing to do. It continues the "cooking" process. So stop the burning process, and wrap in dry bandages. If it's a large burn, you may need to see a doctor. It's very easy to get dehydrated from a large burn, and also easy for it to get infected. One other thing, never pop your blisters...they're there for a reason, your body is repairing the area. If you pop them too early, then they can become very painful. Best of luck to you........

Put a burn under cold running water immediately. If the running water hurts too much, at least cover it with a cold cloth. Keep the cold water on it for about 5 minutes. This will take the heat out and keep it from burning too severely. Then cover it with a light dressing. You might also want to use an antibiotic cream like Polysporin after the burn has cooled off a bit. Don't use it too soon after the burn because the cream will only keep the heat in.

Nothing will keep it from being burnt, but ice will keep it from hurting as bad and getting to red. Also try aloe for burn treating, helps skin heal.

First immediately submerge it in ice, then apply Aloe gel with added lidocaine (can be bought at any drug store). The aloe allows it to heal without scarring and the lidocaine in it keeps the pain away. This can be applied as often as needed. And unless you have an open wound, it's always best not to bandage it up. it's good for fresh air to get to it.

Apply cold to the burn, such as ice. Then apply skin burn ointment. Cover with bandage to prevent infection. If serious, get to doctor.
