Because it is their mistaken way of showing the world how Christian and godly they think they are. Sad.

I'd like to point out that I consider myself to be a strongly religious person. And I do answer non-religious questions without mentioning God or religion. (Don't worry, I'm not offended at the question).
As for why some strongly religious people do this, I have no clue. I assume they are very excited about their beliefs and mistakingly think that everyone else will be excited too.

Why must it all be about people with some religions?
Why can't strongly people-oriented people answer NON-people questions by bringing up a quote from the Bible or stating "God's view" on the question?
Answer: The Christian faith is all about people! Or at least it should be. And those people want you to not go to hell. They believe in eternal damnation, so thank them for caring about your soul and go about your happy way. Co-existence.

Because everything becomes God and everything is therefore about him. Why you are here, crime, violence, sick, sadness, depression, hate, happiness, love, joy, peace all has something to do with religion and ultimately God and Satan. The more you realized this the more your conversation will be geared towards God.
All humanity is now involved in a great controversy between Christ and Satan regarding the character of God, His law, and His sovereignty over the universe. This conflict originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-exaltation became Satan, God's adversary, and led into rebellion a portion of the angels. He introduced the spirit of rebellion into this world when he led Adam and Eve into sin. This human sin resulted in the distortion of the image of God in humanity, the disordering of the created world, and its eventual devastation at the time of the worldwide flood. Observed by the whole creation, this world became the arena of the universal conflict, out of which the God of love will ultimately be vindicated. To assist His people in this controversy, Christ sends the Holy Spirit and the loyal angels to guide, protect, and sustain them in the way of salvation. (Rev. 12:4-9; Isa. 14:12-14; Eze. 28:12-18; Gen. 3; Rom. 1:19-32; 5:12-21; 8:19-22; Gen. 6-8; 2 Peter 3:6; 1 Cor. 4:9; Heb. 1:14.)

Heh, it's not God's view they're giving... They are the one's picking the verses ^_^
I think that people like that really have no thoughts of their own... they've taken the "lean not unto your own understanding" to a whole new level... meaning they don't think at all and only quote the bible for support for everything.
I'm not sure how one can actually LIVE life when all you do is quote a book to others. You aren't experiencing life thru a book, no matter what that book is. You are only reading it. I can read about fixing a car, quote it back to you, but that hardly makes me qualified to run a car shop, now does it?

Because for a "strongly religious" person what they believe is a part of who they are. They quote "God's view" because that is the only one that matters to them. Personal opinion isn't worth much if it contrary to that of the God of the Universe.

have you ever read billy grahams article in your newspaper? that was the first thought when i read your question.
actually humans are conditionned by their environment as they grow up. Brave New World is an extreme of this. cliches, politics, and opinions have been instilled upon us by parents, friends, and teachers. we can escape this, but only if we are aware of it and want to. many people dont want to disrupt their routine, and some of those people were raised christian. you would most likely find the type of thing you're talking about less prevalent in asian or western european countries. you also must accept that evangalists are constantly trying to spread "the word of the lord" and take every oppurunity to bring it up.
no one is making you hang out with the strongly religious, and if they frustrate you, dont let them interfere with your own beliefs.

Because, in their mind, it really is *all* about religion. They instantly and clearly associate every single facet of their lives with their religious beliefs.
To you and i, that seems like an extremely narrow and counter-productive way to go about life. To them, however, it's a large and glorious view; just as you and i may think it absurd to associate everything with religion, they think it absurd not to. Religion isn't just religion for them - it's a way of life.

Deeply religious people tend to be very frightened souls.
Their religion helps them control the fear.
You might go easy on them. Its an awful way to life.

Because God asks us to meditate on His laws day and night.
Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it Jos 1:8
But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night. Ps 1:2
Well, you did ask :-)
