Being is different is hard because most people feel intimidated by things that are different then they are. I don't know why but some people are idiots and don't think outside the box. But who cares what they think because each one of us is unique. As for people never seeing your kind of beauty. You have to be super skinny and have blonde hair or big boobs to be consider beautiful in this country. I know it's unfair but it's sadly the truth. Just rember there's nothing wrong with you. It's just the other people.

Being different is the easy part, honey. It takes alot of work and worry for all those girls to clone one another. If you like to be alone, then be alone. I am alone often, and love it.
Think of how hard it is for those same people to be alone... and then trying to constantly get their friends to hang out with them, and then they feel like big weenies and needy for having to always have someone with them. Remember, their self esteem suffers just as much for having to have company.
You don't want to look like anyone else. Trust me. In ten years, you will love that you look "different." You're mom is right about why they stare, too. I thought people stared at me because I am tall, but it turned out it is just because I'm a "different" kind of pretty. (I go for eclectic dork.)

You sound very beauitful and lots of times people dont know how to react to that. Have you tried using make-up or hair products to accuate you beauty??? As far as being alone, I understand. Try finding a group, organization, or sport that you enjoy and joining in the fun. Go slow, baby steps. I think you will find you have alot to offer other people. Good Luck.... GMM

It's hard to be different because we fear judgement. If you are different, you aren't "normal" and don't know if you match up with other people's ideas of status quo. Let me let you in on a secret, Ms. Curly Q: everyone is different and feels awkward at times. About you liking to be alone, that is your preference and there is nothing wrong with that. I assure you that your mother is right. You are a beautiful girl. Embrace who you are and don't stray from it.

I like to be alone too. I get very nervous and tired if I have to talk to people for a long period of time. Don't worry about looking different, it can be an advantage separating you from the crowd.

You sound like a perfectly normal person to me. Remember, its whats inside that defines you, not what your hair/eyes etc look like as they can change anytime.
