My vehicle has plates from Virginia but since my husband and I will be living in California he told me i shold switch my car plates to CA next month since i will need to renew them anyhow. But, i'm not sure what exactly i need to do to go about that...Can you help me??

go online to the california DMV site and make sure you can register a virginia car in california. they can very strict about cars from other places (do not accept new cars from canada).
I doubt the police know. the last time I asked a question, I got a ticket!

they will held ya
you will need to be in calf as you need a calf smog and safety
than bring your title and paperwork and money in
