Why are there no dinosaurs mentioned in the bible?

The apologists will say something inane like "but they are! what do you think Leviathan is?' Leviathan is clearly an Elephant but they enjoy twisting thier own scripture to whatever argument they like.

I love it. I'm a little late on this one, but I'll join in. The bible doesn't mention dinosaurs because the men who first spoke of, passed the stories and myths along, and the men who wrote them down didn't have the benefit of the the scientific method, and were thus, basically morons.

I can't tell if the Christians in this thread are being serious or not, but minute4u might be on to something. Being a liberal democrat myself, I was recently recruited to spread the word on the myth of dinosaurs. I was given some "bones" and was told to start going to elementary schools to indoctrinate little school children into the "truth" of the "devils bones" as we like to call them. It won't be long until no one believes in the bible and our will be done. On earth as it is in HELL, Muhahahahahaha. DEATH TO ALL BELIEVERS, ....YOUR BLOOD WILL BE SPILLED ON THE .......okay, okay, i went a little overboard there, but I doubt anyone will read this anyway.

The bible is a book of myths that were helpful in explaining the world around them at the time. The only problem is that, the book is no longer relavant to the times in which we live. And Christians are scared of this fact, so they create inane reasons for how the men who collected these could have left out talking about huge 45 foot beasts. They are grasping at straws, and it is really, really sad. Cheers.

Dinosaur-like creatures are mentioned in the Bible. The Bible uses ancient names like "behemoth" and "tannin." Behemoth means kingly, gigantic beasts. Tannin is a term which includes dragon-like animals and the great sea creatures such as whales, giant squids, and marine reptiles like the plesiosaurs that may have become extinct.

The Bible's best description of a dinosaur-like animal is recorded in Job chapter 40. "Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox. What strength he has in his loins, what power in the muscles of his belly! His tail sways like a cedar; the sinews of his thighs are close-knit. His bones are tubes of bronze, his limbs like rods of iron. He ranks first among the works of God..."(Job 40:15-19) The book of Job is very old, probably written around 2,000 years before Jesus was born. Here God describes a great king of the land animals like some of the biggest dinosaurs, the Diplodocus and Apatosaurus. It was a gigantic plant-eater with great muscles and very strong bones. The long Diplodocus had leg bones so strong that he could have held three others on his back.

The behemoth were not afraid. They did not need to be; they were huge. Their tails were so long and strong that God compared them to cedars - one of the largest and most spectacular trees of the ancient world.

After all the behemoth had died out, many people forgot them. Dinosaurs were extinct and the fossil skeletons that are in museums today did not begin to be put together until about 150 years ago. Today, some people have mistakenly guessed that the behemoth mentioned in the Bible might be an elephant or a hippopotamus. But those animals certainly do not have tails like the thick, tall trunks of cedar trees! Although it cannot be stated with certainty, it appears that dinosaurs may have actually been mentioned in the Bible. This should not sound so strange. After all, God tells us that He created all the land animals on the 6th day of creation, the same day that he created mankind. Man and dinosaurs lived at the same time. There was never a time when dinosaurs ruled the earth. From the very beginning of creation, God gave man dominion over all that was made, even over the dinosaurs.

because dinosaurs are just part of the liberal agenda to undermine the roots and ethics of our country. Of course dinosaurs never existed. With the technology available, i think it is clear that all fossils and accounts of discovering dinosaur bones are fakes. The Democrats want to separate the Bible from our Government, and they try to use a bunch of plaster "bones" to disprove the Divine Creation. WHat a load of b.s.! Any educated or thinking person will clearly come to the conclusion that disosaurs never existed, and Archeologists (except the Christian ones of course!), Museums, so called "scholars", historians, jews, and the media are all aiming to put a negative spin on the Word of God> They are all in alignment and working toward the goals of the Anti-Christ. Stereotypically, Republicans are either very, very rich, or at the low end of the economic spectrum. That's how it should be! In the days of the Bible, the poor had nothing, and the rich had everything. This is the best and the way God wants it. It is the Christian way. Just ask one of our greatest leaders, Ronald Regan. He knew the Trickle Down theory, and wanted the poor to embrace the rich, because what is good for the rich is good for the poor. Its just common sense. That way, when you have good christian billionaires, as long as you are a good christion poor person, the rich man will help you withyour struggle. Just compare this to the Liberal ideal of a strong middle class. We'd all be competing and fighting with eachother!!! Then, in our own gluttony we will be left behind during the rapture. So, to answer your question, God did not create dinosaurs, Satan did. The supposed "dinosaurs" are part of the ongoing liberal agenda to destroy the word of Christ by using propaganda, lies, deciet, all while portraying themselves as empathetic to humanity. If you want to truly help humanity, go out and convert all the born sinners out there! Hallelulah!!!

Bible is based on things that people knew or heard about, since dinosaurs had been dead millions of years before people came into being, or if you believe in the Bible story of creation, there were not dinosaurs and the bones are just left by God for man's to see if his faith is strong.;

Because the people who wrote down their myths and superstitions in the bible were descended from primitive hominid ancestors that arose in Africa several million years before... and tens of millions of years AFTER the last dinosaur species vanished from the earth (not counting birds, though, which are the modern-day decendents of dinosaurs). They had absolutely no idea that dinosaurs ever existed. It has been speculated, though, that ancient peoples may have occasionally come across fossilized dino remains, which gave rise to legends of dragons.

earth existed millions of years ago before the Bible. God re-created it and brought it back to life after the dinosaurs and other homo sapiens died out. the world was without life for a very long time b4 it was re-created again.
