There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with his feet. It isn't like he is itching he just bits his nails. Is there anyone else who has a dog who does this?

LMAO!!! My dog does it too, and my vet said that it is perfectly normal. He is a blue heeler/catahoula mix, and he will spend more hours biting his nails then I do on my toe nails ! I would not be concerned unless he starts biting the pads on his feet, or he is ripping his toe nails off and bleeding!

My dogs does this too, and that i keep her nails short. My dogs does this because she is loopy. She is a positive, high quality dogs. yet she spent the first 3 years of her existence in a kennel envrionment without sufficient interplay. maximum of her idiosyncrasies have righted themselves interior the only accurate 9 months. and she or he would not bite on her nails as a lot anymore both. notwithstanding, I doubt she will have the capacity to ever stop doing it thoroughly. I parent it would not damage her, (as she under no circumstances receives her feet, only her nails), so why problem about it, except to furnish her a healthy, balanced abode. i wager I %. my battles. briefly, it must be brought about from anxiousness, psychotic inclinations, or countless different issues. only only be certain you accurate some thing that could nicely be causing it. some dogs are only worried by using nature although, and there is no longer some thing you'd have the capacity to do to thoroughly alleviate it.

Wow, very talented dog. If there is no sign of a rash or infection or the length of thm irritating him, than he could possibly be doing this out of boredom. My dog licks her feet and the vet told us they were boredom licks, call or ask your vet to be sure and if you go to the vet point to the exact area where he licks.

Yes, have you taken him to the groomer to have them trimmed? Or you can buy nail trimmers for dogs and cats at the pet store or even grocery store on the pet food aisle. Help him out.

My dog does it as a nervous habit.
Occasionally her paws get irritated from her chewing.
I squirt some bactine on her paws to clean them up, and get rid of the bacteria between the pads. She absolutley hates the bactine, but it does keep them clean.

I wish my dog did that. I have to use nail clippers. You are lucky.

He wants you to trim his nails. If they don't get trimmed then he'll take care of it himself. I doubt it is a nervous habit.

My female does the same thing. She bites them. Seems like she doesn't want them to get long. I don't know why she does it but she does.

it could be allergies. it can cause a dog's feet to itch, and they will lick or chew on their paws.

there might be nothing else for him to do, or his nails might be too long or they could just be irritating him.
