Tighter border security both along the Mexican and Canadian border.

A more streamlined and less lengthy naturalization process for becoming a citizen.

A way for the current illegals to gain citizenship after paying some form of penalty or fine.

Deportation for illegals that have been convicted of felonies or that have failed to pay taxes (assuming they have had income).

To me, this addresses all the major issues. We will deport those that have committed crimes or avoided paying taxes (which is an obligation of citizenship) but allow those that contribute to society to pay a fine and be able to attain citizenship. Tighter borders will reduce the influx of illegals and the streamlined naturalization process may, over time, be able to keep pace (or eventually outpace) with the influx of illegals that still get through.

Realizing that it isn't a real problem. 12 million are here, but that is approximately the size of New York City and Washington DC put together and it is spread over the entire United States. Many come in but many are also kicked out, so while the number grows it isn't anywhere near the growth level it is being claimed at. This is an attempt at distraction and to gain a scapegoat for when things are going wrong. The economy is a mess, but rather than work to fix it, the Republicans are trying to blame it on Mexicans coming in rather than their own policies.

They are trying trickle-down economics that gives money to the rich, assuming it will cause the rich to use this money to create more businesses to make more money for themselves. The natural side effect of more businesses is that it creates more jobs for everyone else. But it takes a very long time to work itself out and the problem is here and now, and so the economy is a mess because they are taking a long-term approach to it (which isn't entirely bad since it will bring future jobs but we have to wait for them). So they say the immigrants took the jobs so that the heat will be on them rather than on the Republicans and then the Republicans can take credit when the jobs do show up later.

Secure the border.
Get medical and criminal background checks of anyone who wants to come in.
Let those who wont spread crime and disease in.
Let them live in the U.S as non citizens and give them a large amount of time (5 years should be enough) to naturalize themselves (meaning they know how the government works and can speak semi-fluent english) During this period they have an "immigration officer", who like a parole officer, is making sure they are adjusting themselves to society and aren't causing any trouble.
At the end of the period, they can become FULL citizens, or leave the country.
As for those who just want to work here, do all the background checks, and make sure they aren't breaking any laws while they work here.
For the children, they start school at kindergarden, and learn EXACTLY the same thing as everyone else. NO special classes, all those do is make them inlfuent in 2 languages.

The Mexican government needs to step up and increase the penalties for deported illegals. Maybe a harsher deterent would make illegals think twice about coming over here with out going through the proper procedures. Prison time, community labor (hell, maybe the country might just get cleaned up that way),

A better method to allow people to submit to become a naturalized citizen.

A crackdown on those employers who hire illegal immigrants and a deportation of those individuals.

A database that will allow the police or a givernment official to determine the legal status of that person, as well as being able to identify chronic abusers of the system, in both those who continue to employ and those who keep sneaking back.

Realizing that not all illegals are Mexican, and not all Mexicans are illegal.

My opinion is, immigration does have suggestions, and helpful ones such as a results of fact those that the recent mexican president is pushing for, particularly kinfolk reforms geared in the direction of actual doing some thing for their own human beings. he's desperate to coach lower back 10% of his pay, asked different public officers to do a similar, he needs to start up development faculties and different issues, attempting to make the country greater livable and supply human beings an enhanced threat to make some thing of their lives without having to trek to a distinctive u . s . to do it. Getting further and extra international places in touch in doing issues that'll benefit their own electorate is the final answer to this, alongside with in all probability international accords on immigration customarily. i think of that putting greater info on the table will render your helpful answer greater obtainable. That takes examine, besides the undeniable fact that it is not impossible, yet with greater info prevalent, and extra and extra human beings regarding themselves interior the communicate and all suitable factors of it, discussions of subjects like immigration regulation and the regulation customarily, an enhanced understanding would be reached of precisely what immigration skill and the place this finished megatrend ought to wind up taking us. There is no political solution. It's just that all men should respect the existencce of both men irregardless of the politis and constitution. As all men are entitled to walk on all lands.

Amnesty and all countries to give automatic in transit visas for all nations.... (iimpossible) to encourage registration and visa runs...

When all nations become one nation (impossible).

These would be my proposed solutions to the illegal immigration influx:

1.Physically secure our borders, and by that I don’t mean building a fence as many have suggested. Fences can be climbed. You have to build a wall that is contiguous from the Pacific edge of California to the Gulf of Mexico. It must be of sufficient height to where climbing it would be next to impossible, and it should be of sufficient depth that digging a hole underneath it would be cumbersome. Anyone that says that walls are not successful deterrents, even if built well, have not studied history. The Berlin Wall was extremely successful in partitioning a country, and the numbers who were able to breach it were negligible.

2.Continuing with the Berlin Wall paradigm, manned gun turrets should stationed one mile apart from each other across the entire perimeter of the wall from the Pacific edge of California to the Gulf of Mexico. These guards who oversee the all must be given carte blanche to use deadly force if anyone seeks to breach the wall. One only needs to justify this under the pretext of national security. There can be no better way to dissuade an individual than the threat of death. These guards must meet a quota for number of illegals stopped, whether by deadly force or more passive means. Those who exceed their quotos get a commission. Hell, we justified a baseless war under that mantra of national security, why not the securing of our borders under the same banner.

3.It must be a nationwide policy that welfare, medical care, and schooling for illegal aliens must be halted. How can we as a nation assuage the desire to come to this country, if we promote free access to our social services for those who break the law?

4.English can be the only language imprinted on all government documents. No translations allowed. We are basically inviting those who have no regards for our culture to come here when we don’t respect our own language. Notice that countries that mandate one language for all public documents rarely have an illegal immigrant problem as pervasive as the United States.

5.Provide handsome monetary incentives to citizens who point authorities to illegal aliens residing in the United States, and double the incentive to those individuals who lead officials to businesses that exploit illegal aliens for their services.

6.Finally, penalize a business to such a degree financially that it not only becomes unprofitable to employ illegal aliens, but it will result in a net loss to their gross income. The loss should be so great that it would be more profitable to hire US citizens or resident aliens.

Of course none of these policies will work, or will even be enacted, unless the American consumer stops funding businesses that utilize illegal aliens because it is cheaper or more convenient. That means that instead of paying Juan, Pedro, and Ruiz to cut your lawn for 20 bucks, you might have to spend 50 bucks for John, the next door neighbor’s kid to cut your lawn, or worse still, you might have to get off your sedentary behind and cut it yourself, just like your father did.

I don’t mean to be trite by using the lawn mower example, but it an illustration that does underscore that at the heart of America’s immigration problem is the laziness of the typical US citizen and his reluctance to be self-reliant. Back in the 1950’s when a man used to change his own oil, cut his own lawn, and move his own furniture into a house, the need for illegal immigrant work was unnecessary or at least minimal. Once we go back to those days where a man relied on the sweat of his own brow to function in society, that will be the day that Mexicans stop coming here in droves.
