It sounds like depression, but you really need to consult a psychologist or a psychiatrist. Do not go to your family doctor! They are not licensed to diagnose any type of mental illness and are too eager to hand out medications. In the beginning you'll probably have to take meds, which is good because it helps puts the chemical imbalance in your brain into alignment. They also help to stabilize you so that you can learn better coping skills and learn to deal with your feelings. Please Note, that you may only have to take meds for a short period of time and not your whole life. Several years ago I was diagnosed by a psychologist with a form of depression. I took meds for approximately 6 to 8 months and then no longer had to take them. I have been symptom free for about 6 years and no longer go to therapy or take meds.

Best of Luck!

Anxiety and depression are a lot different than your problem. You just need more time off from the things that make you stressed or spend your free time differently.

Anxiety is when you are worried about what others think about you or whether or not you will every amount to anything. Depression is where you could give a damn what people think about you, and in some cases you might not care about your own life.

To me, it sounds like anxiety. There are separate medications for anxiety and depression. Some suffer from both, others have one of these conditions. Talk with a psychiatrist about your troubles and see what medication, if any they recommend.

I do not have depression or schizophrenia, but i do suffer from anxiety. Marijuana for me does alleviate my anxiety. You are too young to be smoking, however. Your brain is still developing and marijuana has over 400 chemicals in it; some could possible hinder brain development. It seems like you have many mental problems and the last that that you want to do is use a drug like weed to cope with them. You need much more than weed it sound like. There has to be better alternatives out there that will help you better than weed ever could.

Some psychiatrists equate depression with anxiety. The medications available for anxiety such as the Valium, Xanax, Ativan group can only be used a short time due to addictiveness. Anti depressants can be used for long periods. Please consult a mental health professional before making a diagognosis on yourself.

I would love to know what meds you are taking. It does sound like depression, what type I am not sure. Have you tried meditation? I know that sounds corny, however I am bipolar and took a class called mindfulness. The program originator is John Kabbit Zinn. Look him up on the net. His program is WONDERFUL. Teaches you ways to deal with stress, overcome anxiety, and think clearer. I use to take a narcotic antianxiety med. Now I don't take any. Good Luck..... GMM

Sacre Vache! And look at ALL of us, in the same boat! I tried several times to go on meds, from paxil to effexor to zoloft...None of them made me feel better, just synthetic happiness, hyper, speedy and disassociated. Keeping busy, staying active, having great friends, and reaching out when you need to helps..and one big one ACCEPTING some sad feelings as normal, stops them from growing into horrible feelings of anxiety or depression. Go through the feelings, let them pass, they will. Get therapy for a while (it's normal too!), volunteer if you have too much time on your hands, relax if you don't have enough! Hope this helps! You are not alone! Take care Luv.

Anxiety. i feel the same at times and trust me there is little you can do about it unless you talk with your doctor. Otherwise try these methods. Talk with a friend. Forget your worries for a while in a book, walk, or some sort of hobby. Know you are doing all you can at the time but if you start feeling like this again try doing something else. It helps tremendously with my stress.

That's a question you need to as a psychiatrist, or at least your doctor, to be evaluated. If it does turn out to be anxiety and depression, there are anti-depressants on the market that deal with both maladies.
