A Charlotte, NC, lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive cigars, then insured them against fire among other things. Within a month of having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars and without yet having made even his first premium payment on the policy, the lawyer filed a claim against the insurance company. In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost "in a series of small fires." The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious reason: that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The lawyer sued ...and won!
In delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company that the claim was frivolous. The Judge stated, nevertheless, that the lawyer held a policy from the company in which it had warranted that the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable fire, and was obligated to pay the claim. Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss of the rare cigars lost in the "fires."
NOW THE BEST PART:
After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him arrested on 24 counts of ARSON! With his insurance claim and testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was sentenced to 24 months in jail and a $24,000 fine.

Folks...lighten up, please. When I read this story I laughed at the marvelous justice (or is it vengence), and I lightheartedly wondered whether God had a hand in it.

Nature and The Bible are living proof that God exists. I'm not sure about the sense of humour part but I do know for sure that God exists because when certain thin gs happen to us in our daily lives that we consider inexplicable such as deliverance from accidents or harmful occurrences, we normally say that our Guardian Angel has delivered us and Guardian Angels come from God. So God is very much present and alive. He is Jesus' father.

well i do not see what this has to do with god.. i think the lawyer should of not sued in the first place on the cigars.. people sue others i think for no reason except being money hungry.. i could have filed lots of law suits but i never have.. course i do not think we are going to take any money with us when we leave this world anyway.. but would be nice to have some.. i have a 5000 dollar check in my purse but it is no good.. i think it should be illegal to send people checks that are not any good...

This is a "chicken and egg" response and I don't know where you got that story, but it is the exact retell of a song by the country singer, Brad Paisley, titled "The Cigar Song" from the "Mud on the Tires" album.

Maybe the song came from the story. Huh? Who knows?

Anyway, I think your question is funny.

No evidence whatsoever. Just a story. But who needs a story to proove God's exixtence. Just look at the world around you to see that He does exist.

If it is true, that's a great story, but it doesn't have anything to do with God's existence.

no, it just means there are a lot of dumb people with perhaps an occassional flash of brilliance in the world.
