I have known nine vegetarians, and eight of them looked like they don't get enough to eat. Then I saw the ninth again recently, and now she looks that way too. I think they might not get enough protein. Many include dairy products in their diet, which could be harmful to the coronary arteries.

I think it can be unhealthy. Also our primitive
ancestors ate way more fat/cholesterol and
animal protien that we do and did not suffer
from heart disease or cancers. read Weston
Prices : Nutrition and Physical Degeneration.
He traveled around the world and studied
all primitive cultures, and found many of them
consumed up to 80% of their calories from
fat. Stll they were healthy and free from heart
disease. The cholsterol theory is a myth...
however i will say that Trans Fat is the
most likely reason for heart attacks and
clogged arteries. Since before they
were invented heart attacks were
a rarety now they are the number
1 killer.
Also I have no guff with vegetarians.
Only the ones who think its a superior
diet. As long as they consume Raw/unpasturized
milk and eggs they should be healthy as a horse!
There are many things we require for health
and those are animal products.
Without these you can become
very malnourished. A vegan diet
is not natural and can be very harmful
in the long run if they are not careful.
Otherwise its fine. Its too bad
people believe in the Cholesterol myth.

I like them! My wife is a vegetarian! I am not, but I prepare meatless meals for us all the time. Some of the fake meat products don't taste too bad at all. I still like a good burger though!
I don't understand how some people eat fish and chicken and still claim to be a vegetarian!

Vegetarians are often extremely healthy people. If you are considering becoming a vegetarian (or already are) then be sure to keep a well-balanced diet. Don't cut meat, eggs & diary products from your diet unless you are replacing the protein & nutrients with other alternatives... beans, soy, tofu, grain, nuts, seeds, mushrooms, broccoli, etc...
Vitamin suppliments are also a smart idea.

Meat is not very healthy. If I were to eat more vegetables, it is not due to religious reasons. So i feel vegetarians are smart.

I think most vegetarians are overweight because they eat too much pasta and not enough meat.

I think they have to be careful of getting balanced nutrition...they don't cover the basic food pyramid very well, in spite of what they will argue...
