It's caused by not keeping the teeth clean around your gums. You must first start with a soft never medium or hard tooth brush and keep them very clean. Do not brush hard as you can damage your gums even further. Use a toothpick in the mirror and go along the gum line very gently and get all the plaque off.Floss gently. Then rinse rinse with listerine. Burns like crazy but it really helps with the bacteria in your mouth. I recently saw a wonderful article that I sent to my children and my nieces and nephews. This article is about the proper way to care for your teeth. I have book marked this article as I think it is the best I have ever read.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

You need to go get your teeth cleaned at the Denetist and then floss and brush after each meal. Plaque casues your gums to get soft and bleed. Healthy gums are hard as a rock. So go get your teeth cleaned, twice a year is good and it's usually free with most insurances.

Besides going to a dentist? Well, you must floss, floss, floss. And you must make a solution of water and hydrogen peroxide half and half and rinse, rinse, rinse, every 4 hours. And brush after each and every meal - that is, after everytime you eat something.
When the inlammation goes away, you can leave off the peroxide rinses, and switch to an anti-bacterial mouthwash couple times a day, but you still have to floss and brush, regularly every day.
