Bulges are normal, what you don't want is the bulge turning into a herniation. Even herniations are not that bad unless they impinge on your spinal cord causing numbness, tingling, and pain...

Per your diagnosis, there are two ways to look at your bulging C5 and C6 disk. The good thing is that it's minor and it can stay that way. With periodic chiropractic treatment, you'll be able to preserve a fairly normal range of motion with regard to your neck and head. If you've lost any range of motion seek chiropractic treatment. Such treatment will enable you to get some (if not all) of your range of motion back. Periodic treatments should include shoulder and neck massages, ultrasound treatments and upper back and neck adjustments. Like I said, these treatments will help you increase any range of motion that you may have lost but more importantly they'll help stave off any arthritic conditions from setting in. There is also a medication that may help prevent arthiritic tendencies around the bulge. Try taking glucosamine. Clinical studies have shown glucosamine to be beneficial in helping alleviating arthritic symptoms. I don't suggest glucosamine with chondroitin though. There's no added benefit and it will only cost you more money to buy them both. The bad thing about your C5 and C6 bulge is that it will more than likely be evident the rest of your life. It's rare to have a bulge remediate, so your best option is to treat the bulge with periodic chiropractic treatments. With such treatments you should live a normal and pain free life.

It is more likely the beginning of arthritis, and it your doctor said it was nothing to be concerned with and you still are then get a second opinion. I have had the same thing for over 20 years , and occasionally now that older age is settling in I get a bit of snap, crackle. pop, on movement. But it really isn't a big deal. The issue would only become an issue if the bulge starts compressing a nerve (highly unlikely).. Get a second opinion if you are worried. Chiropracters can be dangerous and occasionally do more damage than good.. Not all, but in more cases than I care to think about, so I would never consult with one.

Well, probably you can prevent the situation from coming worse and even have the bulging disappear.
Go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax - the effect is simply amazing as the spine gets straight and the pressure is distributed much better.
And it's really worth travelling far - at present, the treatment is available in California and Europe, costing around 200 Dollars. Good luck!
