yes...you will find a man interpreting with his own intelligence his own idea of what it takes to be holy. religeon is not pleasing God...religeon does not equal righteousness or being right....so i agree totally religeon is a rotten cancer of human misunderstanding of God. I seperate my definition of religeon from a belief in God tho...but i believe there is no private interpretation of God..only one correct way, and anyone that identifies with a certain sect or religeous label is dangerous to themselves and everyone around them.

Interesting question. I think that behind most religious beliefs and practices lies a heart of a sinner. Often we do what we do because we want to earn our own salvation. It is only when we trust on God and His working (Jesus dying on the cross, specifically) that we can ever please Him with our works.
