I am interested in how a man can get more resistence in facing different temptations, and more strength to overcame obstacles.

What you are really seeking is self-discipline, and that can be achieved through practice.

Start with something appropriate for you. Are you a slob? Make your bed every morning as the FIRST thing you do. Do it until it becomes habit. Along the way, add something else like making sure the top of your dresser is clean every night before bed.

Okay, are you already more disciplined than that? Then do you exercise regularly? Set a schedule. Stick to it. If you are out of shape start with a daily walk around the block rain or shine. Again, master it and then go a step harder.

Once you teach yourself discipline in one area, you can apply the same process to any other area of your life.

Important hint: if you backslide, don't beat yourself up over it or give up. Just have another go at it tomorrow!

Don't count on will power. There's this old adage 'don't take an alcoholic to the bar' - it really rings true in all facets of life. It means that a huge part of not giving into temptation is by trying to avoid it. The first way to start strengthening your resolve is to set up an environment for yourself that keeps you on the right path by keeping you away from temptation.

After this, the next step is mental conditioning. Write out a list of all the good reasons why you want to resist the temptation, and concentrate on how good you will feel after you achieve all of these positive things. Write a list of all the bad things associated with the temptation and whenever you feel tempted, pull out this list.

Next, build a support system. Tell people what you are trying to do, and choose to hang out with people who support that. If this is not possible, turn to self-help or inspirational books.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

See a lawyer who specializes in this area of law and do not do it yourself. Consult with your financial advisors, the bank manager, and get a copy of your credit report from Equifax or Transunion. You need a proper assessment of your investments, assets, land deeds, household items of value, etc.. and need to calculate the rate of depreciation on these items as well as anything that might increase in value, namely art, jewelry, real estate..if you leave a car to anyone, then you must realize it will be worth very little and may not run in good shape.

Avoid them.

Ever quit a habit? It's like that.

You focus on what is good for you, and reinforce that by avoiding what's bad for you.

I quit smoking a week ago, it's very difficult. I am strengthening my will by avoiding the ciggs. By focusing on how my health will improve by not smoking, and how I will avoid serious diseases by quitting now, I've been able to stay away from them for 6 days.

Mental training can be obtained by karate and other fighting skills, however if you ever lose it you will crush people. The more will you have the more people are willing to test it.

I would seek to discover why you desire certain things. If you can get to the root of that, you won't need to resist it.
