I live in Alabama, our state flag is one of the Confederate battle flags. The confederate flag (stars & bars) is everywhere. Some people complain, I don't care.
All of us who are citizens of the United States of America have the right to express ourselves. So if somebody wants to fly the stars and bars in his yard or on his truck...it's his yard and his truck. It's not my business.
If you want to fly the Mexican flag, it's none of my business. Your rights are protected. If someone is a guest in my country, I consider displays of foreigh nationalsim to be an invitation to a confrontation (excluding sports or times of international crisis). If
I were to travel to any nation, take out my American flag, march through the streets singing the Star Spangled Banner. I would get into trouble to say the least... Maybe a riot in others.
I look at it like sports. You have the right to wear the visiting teams jersey on the home side. We all know there are consequences and risks involved in wearing a Broncos jersey to Raider fan's sports bar.

I personally do not care what flag you fly, but if you are talking about being a PATRIOT- you can not devote yourself to 2 different countries. Especially if\when the beliefs and actions of one stands in direct conflict with the belief\actions\soveriegnty of the other.
Living in Los Angeles, I was pissed when there were people marching in the streets with Mexican flags asking for recognition and rights in the United States. If you are asking for rights as a person IN the U.S., you should be showing people your desire to BE AN AMERICAN. After all, I am assuming that you came here because the 'American way of life' provides you with more opportunity than the country you came from... Otherwise, why cross the border?
Right or wrong, the sight of people fighting for the rights of illegal immigrants in this country while FLYING A FOREIGN FLAG makes some people pretty damn angry.

No it is not a crime, it is just that some people just don't have the intelligence that God gave a roach. I know what you mean it's ok for a "good ol boy" to have a huge flag on the back of his truck displaying his pride, but when someone sees a flag from a different country they think we are out to get the US. You must be here to sabotage our government, and take over the country. It is always going to be hard to justify yourself in the actions you or I take as supporters of the immigrants whether here legally or by the proper methods. It is sad that this is what our country has come to when there are so many other problems that need to be taken care of.

With the way the country has been going with the immigration issues, flying a Mexican flag is showing your support for another country. Many people have a problem with it. We had to watch the Mexican flag raised above an upside down American flag. We had to listen to people saying they are here to fight for their country (Mexico) while carrying their flag.
It just makes it seem like some want all the USA has to offer, but spit on it at the same time.

I fly a black P.O.W. flag . American flag on the front door. Nothing wrong with being proud of your heratige. I'm white and have been stranded out in the desert...The yeppies in their Volvo would pass me up when I'm a 100 miles from water, tired because you can't sleep with red ants, and hungry. Only Mexicans & the local Indians gave me rides. Mexico is a beautiful country except the government drives everyone north. Fly your flag and pay taxes so the system doesn't get overloaded.

The reason why people don't like others to fly the confederat flag is because hateful people-KKK, racists, etc.- have added a negative conotation to it. Flying a Mexican flag is ok because you are proud of your heritage just like many are proud of there irish heritage, italian heritage, french, cuban, sudanese, etc. It would be ok if the confederate flag was only a representation of post- civil war southern heritage but men have turned it into a symbol of rebellion and hate for fellow Americans. Confederate flag is to American flag as Swastika flag is to German flag.

I see various flags around my neighborhood all the time and don't think it's a big deal. If you have Mexican heritage and are proud of it, go ahead and fly both US and Mexican flags. If anyone gives you a hard time, I'll come over and stand with you, hermano!
Just check on standard flag protocol: They should be on separate poles, since putting one national flag higher than another in time of peace with that country is rude, and the US flag should go on the right, as the host country. (in Mexico, it would be the other way around of course.)

No big deal to me. I'd think it would be worse if you flew the rebel flag.Thats more offensive,I think. The mexican flag doesn't promote hatred which is what the confederate flag does. I know all the bull about it standing for southern pride, but I live in the south. No other southerner raises that flag unless they are white. I've never seen a black southerner raise the rebel flag.Southern pride?I don't think so.Confederate pride?Yeah.Rebel flags equal racism around here.
I'd rather see a mexican flag anyday.

It's okay to fly a flag in honor of your heritage, or perhaps you want to fly a military flag, or a state flag.....you just need to respect the etiquette of flag flying.
The USA flag should always be on top, then military branch flag or your state flag mounted below the USA flag when mounted on the same pole.
Another country's flag should always be on a separate pole.
Other poles should never be taller than/higher than the USA flag & pole.
See the link below for the flag rules & regulations.

i dont see a big deal in that. many places and people fly the american flag and their own country's flag below or next to it. if the flag has a racial meaning to it like the KKK, then that would be a problem in the US.
