You might want to do some research. Here in North America, we actually have more trees now than we did 40 years ago. There nothing wrong with cutting down trees as long as you manage your forests wisely. (Not that we don't have some management problems...namely wildfire supression policies.) That's why trees are considered a "renewable" resource....they grow back if you let them.
That said, there are certainly examples of the devastation wrought by excessive logging. Ethiopia, for example, used to have a lot of forest but much of it was cut down by the early 1900s. This caused the top soil to erode away which made it difficult for new forest to grow back or even to grow crops on the cleared land. That in turn led to famine. It's the same story in many parts of the world. Thankfully, new technologies and increasing prosperity of developed nations have eased the burden once placed on our forests. The best way to save the forests of other countries is to help them with technological development so that their wealth can afford them the same luxury that we now enjoy. That is, to put the environment ahead of immediate needs for survival.

its totally wrong!!! once a tree is torn down it takes at least ten years for it restore its original topsoil that it grew in plus more time for the tree to grow , people should find other resources to use .

I agree. We are taking away our best oxygen source and our best CO2 removal system. I guess we aren't THAT fond of breathing!

i agree!!! people are destroying the animal's natural habitats and they have nowhere to go. we already have enough houses. we actually have too many. if people keep destroying their homes then, they're eventually going to go extinct.
