I've noticed something with these boards. As a Christian, I feel the same way about those who are not Christians. I feel they are also arrogant and like to judge Christians.
I guess my point is that no matter where you are on different issues it will always feel like you are being attacked from the other side.
And, as a Christian, I agree that there are a lot of Christians who do judge and come off as very arrogant.
No matter who does it, Christian, other beliefs, agnostic, or atheist, judging is wrong.
In my beliefs, it's up to God to do the judging, so I'm trying to break my habit and walk in love.
What often happens, and this gets debated almost every day on these websites, is that 1) it's hard to see the expression or the intent of the person who is sending communications, so it's hard to respond in a way that does not come off as hateful or hostile.
2) MOST Christians don't "hate" gays, but we don't agree with the activities that gays and lesbians do. 3) While our methods may be poorly devised, believe it or not, we care and want the best for you. When we see someone doing an activity that we feel could cause them harm, we want to keep them from doing further harm. So our methods are the problem here.

I know why! im a christian myself well roman catholic... I know why. because man and woman are 'the right ones' to get married and have children( in the bible).
but then again. hey christians especially you guys who hate homosexuals !!that is not a reason to be hatred and judging toward homosexuals or others that are not 'listed' in the bible. since the most important thing is actually LOVE .. don't you read the bible? the whole thing is about LOVE !
we live in a crazy world you know. people hate others who LOVE others.. about christians being arrogant.. because we believe that Jesus is the only god.. just like children.. we are arrogant when we feel like we have something that others don't ... but you non christians, you guys dont hate us too because you think that we're arrogant. arrogant people are worthless in God's eyes , who do you think goes to heaven , an arrogant priest who spreads hatred towards all homosexuals or a homosexual who spreads love...
Im a roman catholic religionized :p but i don't hate homosexuals. they're spreading the love man... why should i hate them. stop the hate , start the love !

Yes they do! But not only gays also toward a variety of people who are different. For example, I was working with a group who I didn't know very well on a task and said something like, "I'm very conservative with the way I do this..but that is the only place I'm conservative." It was only in reference to the task at hand and I never discussed politics or religion with them. But apparently several are right wing Christans and they choose to hate me after that for such little reason. (I am a free thinking kind of person but my lifestyle in basically conservative..yet I am considered too wild for them.) They know nothing else about me..religion or politics just that broad statement I made. Amazing how narrow and hateful right wing Christians are!

I dont think it has anything to do with being a Christian. There are just as many arrogant and judgemental people in other faiths, and non-religious people too. Some people just seem to think they are better than everyone else. I am a Christian and do not hate anyone straight or gay. If someone is a true Christian than they would not display hatred towards anyone since that would be completely against Jesus Christ's teachings.

A Christian should not be arrogant or hateful, but a Christian should share the Gospel, and in order to do that we must tell people that the Bible says what they are doing is Wrong. Homosexuality is a sin, read Romans. men abandoned natural relations with women and started lusting for one another. No homosexual will inherit the kingdom of Heaven. We should treat all people with compassion. Homosexuality is just one example of many sins, for example, lying, stealing, blasphemy, coveting. People must understand their sins. Forgiveness is only available through Jesus Christ, and the only way to be forgiven is to Repent, which means to ask for forgiveness for all of your sins, turn from them, and put your complete Trust in Jesus Christ. This is the only way to be forgiven and enter the kingdom of Heaven.

because they don't understand Jesus or his teachings. his disciples were the outcasts. he taught love and understanding, not hatred and condemnation, the bible has been edited to uphold abhorrent beliefs by the people in power many times over the centuries that is the true abomination. Christians should if they want to spread the word be such a bright and shining beacon of light and goodness that others are drawn to them, instead they want to spout bile and intolerance towards anyone who doesn't agree with their mis-interpretation of the bible.

Christians in general are a very unaccepting group of people. They are not willing to accept anything that was not written in the bible to be right. They believe that it is their place in life to judge others because they think that they have the right way of life while those others who they judge have it all wrong.

Yes, which Christians do you speak of? I have no problem with gays or lesbians. I have friends who practice the lifestyle....still doesn't make it right.

Hmmm, why do you stereotype all christians? To be honest, I haven't read any comments on here by christians who claim to hate homosexuals, though I haven't read all the answers. To say something is wrong, doesn't imply hatred.
When you are convicted and unsure, that is where you feel offended. If I don't feel something is wrong, and someone tells me it is, I am not offended by it. If I am doing something wrong, and someone tells me, then I feel bad, and though I could be mad at them for telling me, I am the one who is wrong, not them.
Where then, does hate come from? Take care.

I attended a church service where it was the whole focus of the sermon. I believe many people believe they are going against God if they reject their religious leader's teachings. Thus, it's relatively easy to indoctrinate almost anything into people who want to "serve the Lord" in the only way they know how - listen to their church leader.
