After the mass suicides, an underground network of truly subversive terrorists would take over. They would look like Americans, talk like Americans, but would be able to screen out infiltrators with secret code words like chesterfield, stagettes, and the proper pronunciation of "about." THey would lie about distances, telling you that the distance is a mile down the road, when they really mean 1.6 miles. They would answer questions with "Je ne comprend pas," or in an incomprehensible Newfie accent.
They would stage disruptive passive-aggressive protests south of the 49th, just because they can.
People whose names are Stephan, or Harper, or Brian, or Mulroney, would change their names to Louis, or Riel, or Lester, or Pearson, as an act of patriotism.
They would undertake a program of boring to death non-Canadians, and they would find it endlessly entertaining.
And after America has raped and pillaged all the natural resources Canada has, especially oil and gas, as well as water, America would leave Canadians to pick up the pieces and let Canadians be, well, Canadians - you know, boring, left-wing, earnest.

JZwigger is a total idiot and shows his ignorance by his remarks. Canada's money is not worthless as he states, the US currency which by the way is all counterfeit by the Constitution is so inflated so Bush can fight his totally illegal war that our currency is almost par with the US.
We do not want to be part of the USA because we enjoy our life here and don't need the huge gang violence that the USA has in almost all its towns and cities.
Canadians can work almost any American under the table and are very productive in what they do. By the way many of the automakers have huge plants in Ontario.
Most Canadians are quite Conservative and we have a much better health system here.
Canada is divided into 10 provinces and 3 territories all vastly larger than any state in the united states. There is no way Canada would want to become part of the USA so the question is mute.
Now for your information, I am a US citizen who now lives in and loves my adopted country...I would suggest before you make anymore defaming remarks you should come up here and visit this great country and see its diversity. Or do you still wish to spout off idiotic statements?

Wow thats a good question, i must tread lightly as i get reported for everything i say about canada.
First inflation would skyrocket. This is due to canadas monolopy money which is almost worthless
Second there would be many protests because Americans are the hardest working nation in the world. Many would compliain that the hours are to long and too hard. So this would be a complete change of the "laid back" and smoke pot all day attitude of our neighbors
Third there would be a huge increase in the production of flannels
and fourth they will try and push their liberal ideas on us but they wont get far becuase everybody knows that liberals never get into office anyway because they are just grown up hippies who dont want to work for a living!!
I think i have stayed clean and do not deserve to be reported. thank you and god bless

Canada traditionally votes left of even the Democrats. There would be fewer Republican governments. It would be like having a second California election time.
Free Trade would be Free Trade, and we would have the economic clout of Texas and Washington State combined given our electrical, oil, and timber resources. We would get our Billion Dollars back that the US stole in softwood lumber.

canada doesn't want to be a US state...besides that it is larger in area than the total US..sounds a liittle incongruous to have a state larger than the country....also we canadians don't like guns..don't like the amount of predjudice in the US (not that we don't have some here)...we like our medical system...and we like our liberal laws on gay marriage etc...No trying to put down the US but you asked how it would be different and I'm trying to tell you what the differences are.

The US will never have a "state" which is larger than the entire US put together. It'll never happen, Canadians hate American policy as much as the rest of the world.
