I am trying to hook up my JVC MP3 deck in my girlfriends Saturn Vue. After successfully connecting the new wire harness to the correct wires on the deck, I get no display, no radio function. All I can do is load/unload CD's, press the display button to make the deck light up, and that's it. It is getting power, obviously. I have the RCA's hooked up to the back, but they are not plugged into the amp yet. The factory ground is hooked up as well as the ground that is one of the wires. HELP HELP HELP!!!

I am not too sure about that one I haven't heard of any problems with Saturn vue's. If the other person is correct in the fact that you need to run a constant wire its the yellow wire that's constant. The red wire is switched wire. The yellow provides constant 12volts all the time. The red wire provides 12volt on when the ignition see power (some cars have an accessory mode that will also power up that wire.) You could check the wires with a test light or multimeter. With either tool you hook one side up to ground than touch the wires. A test light will light when it sees voltage a multimeter (with the appropriate setting on) will allow you to see the voltage that's at the wire.

I had the same problem with a SONY XPLOD mp3 player, installing in a Chevrolet cavalier 96, but my problem was solved when i wired correctly to the battery factory original cable, In my mistake i was using the power wire from the dashboard lights and my negative wire was attached badly to another negative factory wire, I re located the negative ground into one side of the chassis far away from the unit, more exactly under the drivers seat with the screws of the seat

My friends JVC did the same problem, you need to run the power wire (red) directly to the battery. All you do is the power wire from the JVC harness (red), attach speaker wire, or similar wire and run it. That should solve your problem.

i could gladly commerce problems with you. a minimum of you canpersistent yours. My '02 has had a busted trans, value me my interest, and the Repo guy needs it lower back. a minimum of your only fidgeting with a stereo. Airbags have 0 something to do with a radio. no longer a professional on radios besides the undeniable fact that it may in basic terms be some issues. a million) capability, 2) floor 3) channel putting (on my CD changer it had a station putting) 4) unfavourable connection 5) fuse 6) you neglected some thing. bypass lower back step via step lower back. Retrace the concern. If that fails? Take it to the vehicle stereo guy you probably did no longer desire to pay interior the 1st place.
