If its by her ear then its usually ear mites. They will scratch until they lose hair and even bleed. Get her to the vet to see so you can get drops to put in her ears!

It could be, but I wouldn't be too worried until you go to the vet. But my cat used to have the same thing over the same spot. We found out that it was because of the birds. They would peck her head when she would go outside. I think that there was a birds nest somewhere by my tree. What I would do is check your trees or bushes around your front porch. If there is a nest, check to see if there are any eggs. If you don't think that that is the answer, I would deeply check in with your vet. See what it is. It could also be worms. My cat also had worms and we went to the vet to get some medicine. For your fleas/ticks, I would get some pills or medicine from your vet. We got some of this gel stuff that we put on the back of her neck to keep the fleas off. Try this and see if it works. If you have anymore cat questions (or any other questions at all) click my profile and contact me.
Hope my info helped! =]

Don't worry about it. I'll be 100% sure that the bald patches have just appeared this summer. Each summer my 2 cats get them, it's due to the heat, and flea/ticks.
Buy some 6week Frontline pipettes (search on internet), I get mine via mail order 3 pipettes for £10.95 petmeds.co.uk free p&p, each pipette lasts 6 weeks, keep your cat covered with frontline, and groom her regularly, it's from too much over rubbing when the cat runs her paw behind her ear, by keeping her groomed it will help her to cool down and should reduce the cats need to rub her scent/sweat glands, by kepping ticks, & fleas at bay will reduce her scratching herself too. Don't worry about it 85% of cats get these bald spots over the summer months.

check with your vet - a cat can get "ring-worm" which is a skin infection that needs a little medical attention. since the cat has fleas, it is very possible that this is the result of a mite or flea. it iwll spread, to you and other animals if you dont get some medicated lotion for it.

Could be caused by the fleas, since this is peak flea season, get some stuff from the vet, its safer, and it takes them right away, it stops the flea cycle!

Hey there, not sure but maybe you should take her to the vet to have her checked out. My kitten has two thin spots under her ears, but my vet said it is normal, and I don't have to be worried about it. Vets know best. =) Good luck!
