Everyone that said Dawn is right, that really is the best stuff in the world to use. Dab some undiluted Dawn directly on the spot and throw it in the laundry hamper, Dawn won't damage your clothes so it won't matter how long it takes you to get around to doing a load. When you go to wash the garment use the hottest setting that the fabric can take. Pour one cup of ammonia in the wash cycle of your load, ammonia is also a grease dissolve.
Make sure that your grease spot is out before you dry your garment, grease ran through the dryer is a mess!! The dryer warms the grease causing it to spread around in your garment, making the spot look bigger, and allows it to cling deeper into the little fabric fibers making it harder to get out.
I don't recommend 409, 409 can fade darker clothing...you'll get rid of your grease spot but end up with a funky faded spot. Good luck!

Original Dawn Dish Detergent. It's really true... it cuts the grease! Not only on your plates, but on your clothes as well!! Dab a little on right out of the bottle and let it soak in for an hour or so then wash as normal! Should be good as new!

Orange Goop. It's like Lava Soap. My dad uses it when he's done working on cars. It works for grease from food too. Just rub it on, and then throw your clothes in the wash.

Dab some Dawn on it. I used Dawn for an industrial oil spill once (not as bad as Exxon).
If you don't have Dawn, spray some 409 on it.
