Just take it slow and easy. Don't ever say oops in front of a patient. Make sure to check your meds three times. Listen to your patients. Ask if there's anything you can do for them before you leave the room. Keep the room neat - take out the garbage, organize supplies, make the bed. make sure your IV tubing is labeled and flagged with a date, and your IV bags have patient labels on them. Don't be afraid to ask questions or ask for help from your preceptor or classmates. Nobody knows it all, and good nurses realize that about themselves. Good luck! :)

Don't take any setback or criticism too personally. There is a huge amount of stress in a nursing program. If you take it personally, it will upset you and make it even harder for you to learn and improve. So just take even the hard setbacks as a learning opportunity and keep doing your best. Remember that at the end of the program virtually all students who finish do become nurses, so just be patient.
