Spaghetti with jar sauce would not do for my 3 spoiled children. They expect something special. If we are doing pasta, it has to be with penne or angel hair, cooked in a marinate of Italian seasons and dressing, plus grilled chicken that is cut up and seasoned, and served when it is all perfectly hot with shredded (not grated) parmesian on top. Happily, they will accept jar sauce, as long as it is something better than Kraft.

Ramen noodles and Kraft mac & cheese will do, too.

That just depends on how energetic I feel at the time. If it's just me and the wife, jar sauce. If we're having guests, it's time to get creative. Some of the jar sauces are pretty dang good, by the way; don't knock 'em. And although spagetti is the main dish, we never forget the side dishes, such as garden salad and a hot green vegitable. That way we can eat a reasonable serving of s'getti with its fat and sodium and not go 'way from the table hungry.

Its neither. My mom makes her sauce from scratch. Buys fresh tomatoes and starts chopping them and mashing them. The jar sauce is when we are in a hurry to make something to eat. Its more convenient. But if its my moms day off, she will spend most of the afternoon making the sauce and slowly cooking it.
Mm so good! But I wouldnt consider it a celebration.

Another good way to make sauce and its very quick and easy. Cut about 3 or 4 tomatoes, dice them up and stuff, put some oil in the pan, and let the tomatoes cook or however you wanna say it. Then add a couple cloves of garlic diced up in small pieces and some onions as well and just let it simmer there for awhile. About 10min or so, you have some DELICIOUS sauce!

I use the jar, but get creative adding additional items to it. So both, I guess. Spaghetti is supposed to be sort of simple, don't you think?

lol, girl I just open a jar of Ragu, dump it in with some browned ground beef and that's it. However I do love homemade sauce and meat balls. But I really don't know how to make it.

Never a jar sauce!
Always one from scratch, even a simple one with olive oil, garlic, peppers+fresh basil or more sophisticated for guests.
