5150 is a police code for "crazy". I got it when I went to a 72 hours lock down..

No, one of the questions you have to answer truthfully on the ATF form is "have you ever been declared mentally defective" or something of that sort. If you lie, they find out and you go to federal prison.

It is required on a background check and shows up on such when applying for permits.
