Where I teach, we are required under contract to be present at work for 35 hours per week. However, most of us arrive at school early and leave late. That's not taking into account the many, many hours spent outside of school grading papers and tests, preparing and researching lessons, etc.

Last year I worked at least 10 hours Mon-Fri, plus grading stuff over the weekend usually took 1-5 hours. Some days I would work longer than 12 hours on school stuff. So in short, way too much.
