Chateauneuf de Pape is made with that many grape varieties. It is a southern Rhone wine and a personal favorite

Chateauneuf du Pape wines are allowed up to 13 different varieties in their blend. But few -- if any -- use them all. Some of them are very rare and some are white, which rather dilutes the red blend.

The 13 permitted varieties are:-

Grenache
Syrah
Mourvèdre
Cinsault
Muscardin
Cournoise
Clairette
Bourboulenc
Picpoul
Roussanne
Terret Noir
Picardan
Vaccarese
