The Bible says this: Leviticus 20:13: "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them." Exodus 35:2 "For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death."

So, can someone explain to me why all homosexuals on earth arent being killed in the name of God? Or, perhaps you can explain to me why Walmart keeps their stores open on Sundays (or Saturdays if you wanna spilt hairs...thats the real Sabbath)??

Ive seen alot of responses about how these are Old Testament philosophies, and now you believe in the New Testament....but the Bible specifically states that the word of God will stand "for ever." So why isnt it still standing???

well the problem with those verses that GOD at that time was inspired by him self and only in NT GOD re-inspired his self to be even more ridiculis.
Therefore Inspiration of GOD is in the hands of Christians.

It's not really a question of Old Testament versus New Testament. It is a question of interpretation. Specifically, who does the "you" refer to in Leviticus 20:13? It can't refer to all people in general, since there is a commandment against murder! We also know that God has given us governments and national laws. (Before there were judges in Israel, they had no formal government. Moses interpreted the civil laws given on Mt. Sinai. The ethical laws, the 10 commandments, apply to all people of all times, and are the basis for many civil laws around the world.) According to Romans, it is the responsibilty of governments to set up laws, and enforce them, hopefully as ethically as possible. It's not really fair to homosexuals, either, to single them out, since there are many other severe prohibitions in civil laws of the Old Testament. We need as Savior as much as they do. Finally, Jesus, explained many of the commandments that were misunderstood, including the one about the Sabbath. While it's true that the Sabbath was Saturday. Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for man, not the other way around. Basically, the Sabbath command was a command to worship God, and find our rest in Him. This can take place on any day of the week. We often choose Sunday because that is the day Jesus rose from the dead! Finally, the Word of God will stand forever... It still stands and always will, even when people fail!

Jesus did not come to destroy the Old Testament but to fulfill it. We live in a day of grace. That is why these laws are not enforced. The Word of God has transcended through the ages. It still stands. Judgment day will arrive when all great and small shall stand in front of God. He will open the book of life. Your book of life is recorded. Wonder if anyone knows where it is recorded. Try the sub-conscience. The ego, id and super id.

According to "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy : The Fab 5's Guide to Looking Better, Cooking Better, Dressing Better, Behaving Better, and Living Better", you should use proper grammar when writing. Jai says this makes you look more intelligent and gives a great impression from the start.

Can you tell me why you don't look unintelligent? Oh, you do.

Queer Eye seems to be very prophetic.

The book doesn't have chapter/verse breakdown so I can't give you the exact location. If you want, you can purchase the Book from Amazon.com. I've included a link in the references.

P.S. - If you need help getting over the sodomy issues, let me know. I'm gay, so I can help you work through them!

The Levitical law was meant for a certain people (Jews) at a certain time period. That is why we don't offer sacrifices either. We, as believers, are under grace, not law.

"The word of our God, that glory of the Lord which is now to be revealed, the gospel, and that grace which is brought with it to us and wrought by it in us, shall stand for ever; and this is the satisfaction of all believers, when they find all their creature-comforts withering and fading like grass. Thus the apostle applies it to the word which by the gospel is preached unto us, and which lives and abides for ever as the incorruptible seed by which we are born again, 1Pe_1:23-25."

Secondly, we live in a secular society, not a Christian one. And, by the way, there are several communities in America where it is illegal to run a business on Sunday.

I would research this FOR you and give you a detailed answer, but first I would need to know if you have read the entire Bible, Genesis to Revelations..or if you are just picking these verses out of context?

It really wouldn't be worth my time to do research you could do yourself....and I'm not entirely sure you'd be interested in the answer.

If you're interested in reading the Bible, beginning to end, which I have done...you will find that the promise of a Messiah, a Savior came as early as Exodus....you will find that God's purpose for mankind was eternal fellowship with a holy God, but that because he gave man a free will, so as to choose God and not be forced into a relationship, man chose his own way....leaving out detail here, because I'm 99% sure you were not serious about getting an answer.....God knew people would never be able to be holy enough on their own to reconcile themselves to God....the law came --yep, all those laws you mention....many more than TEN, (as is the common misunderstanding of the law) ...to show folks that they COULD NOT keep it, that they would need a Savior....you know, the one that was prophesied about in just about every book of the OT....ok....there's a good start for ya.
Now, go get your Bible and read it.....

And if you don't wanna read it, no problem...but please don't go into the medical profession. I would hate to think you were operating on someone based only on the "out of context" passages you read in your medical textbooks.

That homosexuality is an abomination in the eys of God is still a fact... But now, because of the sacrifice of Jesus The Christ, We are living under Grace... not the old law... Homosexuals have the oportunity to refrain from the abominal practice and to come to God in the same way that all have available to them... They will have this oportunity,,, as do all... untill their last mortal breath... They just have to give up the practice and come to God in The Way He proscribes.... Just like every one else must... If they were killed that oportunity would be taken from them in violation of God's Grace and Mercy.

OK...I'll accept that committing a homosexual act is probably a sin...and maybe shopping at Wal-Mart is a sin. (Jesus caught hell for healing somebody on the Sabbath...and some thought that that was a sin, too.)

Would you agree that ALL sins are an affront to God? Also would you agree that ALL humans are sinners? (If not...good luck to you...I can't help you nor answer your question.)

What makes the sins YOU (or I) commit less serious or more forgivable than a Homosexual Sabbath shopper?

Answer: Nothing...we're equally guilty of failing to do God's will.

If you're a Fundamentalist Christian (I'm not...by the Grace of God,) now is the time for you to stick planks in your eyes and/or rip out your eyeballs.

The Word of God will stand forever...regardless of how often you...or I...or a homosexual...or a Wal-Mart greeter...ignores it.

What does walmart and homosexuals have to do with your question... or was that more of a statement.... study your Bible and you will find that we are guided by the New Covenant now... The Old Covenant is important so that we can see why we have the New Covenant now, and it has a lot of beautiful readings in it... also the Old Covenant contains a lot of prophecies that you see come true in the New Covenant.

Simple truth---we live in a FALLEN society. The word stands but we will fall for anything. I don't shop on Sundays. If I could get away without shopping on Saturday---for the sake of splitting hairs----I would do that too. But if we all refrained----Wal-Mart wouldn't open ANY DAY. *sigh* Sorry if you thought our actions have any effect on the word of God---because it does not. IT SHOULD HAVE AN EFFECT ON US not the other way round.

Death means Hell. So when they speak of sins, abominations, betraying the Lord's word, those actions all merit death. The Bible continues to talk about how Jesus died ont he cross, and those that take Him to be their personal savior will conquer death, and live in Heaven for eternity. Those who have not will receive death as a punishment for their sins.
