Yes, love makes you vulnerable. Loving someone and caring what they think and how they are is automatically a painful process, because you are never going to be able to satisfy everything that person wants from you, and you are never going to be totally satisfied with the person you're with (even if you are the most accepting human being on the planet, which I am not). To quote a favorite author....
"Love sucks. Sometimes it feels good. Sometimes it's just another way to bleed."

It does make you vulnerable. Loving someone means opening yourself up to that person, which leaves you open for hurt. Love also makes you stronger than anything else though. People will fight for love like nothing else. When it's true, love can change your life. I think that's worth whatever vulnerability it may cause.

To love definitely make yourself vulnerable. To love can only come to bad end. Your love one has to die someday, and that kind of pain is extremely unbearable.

Unfortunately, that's love. Allowing someone to be important to you can only be your weakness, but one can't help loving someone else. It's just one of those unfortunate situations in life.

At the same time it's a sacrifice, better to feel love than to never feel it at all. All good things come with a price.

Agree. look at that Jennifer Hudson that alter into an American Idol runner up. That exhibits you there is expertise obtainable and alot of those "unknowns" could artwork for alot much less money than the "A" checklist actors and actresses desiring 25 million in step with action picture. yet I did think of that Hillary Swank did a sturdy activity doing that action picture. the 1st time that I ever observed her replace into on Beverly Hills 90210 as Brandon's lady chum! LoL!

Disagree. Love makes one strong, because the more you love the more you feel that power/energy in your body. It is the fear of love that makes one vulnerable. Just because someone doesn't love you back, doesn't mean its wrong to love them. Yes, love sometimes hurts, but mostly it heals.

Love makes one vulnerable...LOL
It's not true. With love nothing is impossible, because form love come all the good things...
If I make use of the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am like sounding brass, or a loud-tongued bell.
And if I have a prophet's power, and have knowledge of all secret things; and if I have all faith, by which mountains may be moved from their place, but have not love, I am nothing.
And if I give all my goods to the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it is of no profit to me.
Love is never tired of waiting; love is kind; love has no envy; love has no high opinion of itself, love has no pride;
Love's ways are ever fair, it takes no thought for itself; it is not quickly made angry, it takes no account of evil;
It takes no pleasure in wrongdoing, but has joy in what is true; Love has the power of undergoing all things, having faith in all things, hoping all things.
Though the prophet's word may come to an end, tongues come to nothing, and knowledge have no more value, love has no end.

Love is everything we need in this world...and we lack it sooo much sometimes.

Normally, I would agree because to love someone properly you have to take down all defenses and put trust in that person. Obviously this leaves you vunerable because you dont allow yourself anything to hold onto if they let you down.

But as this is in the R&S section, if we are talking about agape (the unconditional love we recieve from God) then I would disagree. To love God, all we need to do is accept what he ghives us. By definition this is never going to cease, and so we arent vunerable. Although for most people (myself included) this is difficult to grasp and we feel vunerable in accepting it (though it is possible to accept it with out becoming vunerable).

Agree: Love makes one vulnerable only to the perosn he/she loves
this love can be used o hurt the persons who love which is partially why it makes them vulnerable
DISAGREE: Love gives strength and motivation to the people who are in love, it makes them want to be better for the ones they love, makes them do the impossible. i.e. makes the invincible

Agree because you can not really love if you don(t open up.
If you open up there is always a chance people will see your flaws and opening up also makes you vulnerable and that's always risky.

yes, because you open your heart to someone. At that point, they can love you back, or cut your heart into little pieces, grill it with onions and serve it back to you on a plate and say, "how does that taste?"
