Muhammad Ali had beaten George Forman 1 year ago, Apollo Creed defended against Rocky Balboa (who later dominated the sport and became a 2 time champion with a 10 defenses)1 year later. Creed 40-0 v.s. Ali 46-2. Ali was never the same after '75, slowing rapidly (ala Holyfield), while Creed in '75 would have been sharp still leading into Rocky 1. Plus, in the seen where Creed first takes notice of Balboa, it is stated that nobody will fight him. During the first Creed-Balboa fight, he accuses Joe Frazier of ducking him. I know it's make believe, and depending on the movie, Sly can take over whole countries with a knife and a red rag on your head. Just wondering what you all thought about it.

I know some might say Drago kicked Creed's *** in 2 rounds, but, Trevor Burbick beat and retired Ali. Look what Tyson did to Burbick... in 1 round. If Ali had come back like Apollo came back, the fate would have been comperable.

Ali would win. Apollo was a snappy puncher, but he'd fall for the rope-a-dope, like everyone else, get tired, then lose as Ali came back.
