Well, no. I've got about 340,000 right now, but I use them for friends and family. People I know. And for overseas travel.

But you could look at auction sites like ebay, etc and see if anyone is selling them. They aren't supposed to (not a law, but in the frequent flyer program rules), but some people do.

A fair price is around $1.5 cents per mile. I'd be happy to get 2 cents per mile. You should be happy to pay 1 cent per mile. Somewhere in that range is where I'd expect a transaction to be agreeable to everyone.

Domestic award travel takes 15,000 to 40,000 miles round trip depending on the airline and whether "saver" seats versus "peak-travel" seats are available for the route you want. If you don't mind odd connections and red eyes, there often is something available.

What is an "arm and a leg?" If it is less that $400, freq flyer awards are best used on more expensive itineraries. And therefore likely priced accordingly. I start using my miles when the ticket prices exceed $800 or so.

Look at nearby airports on each end. Often one route/market is more competetive than another. Check www.southwest.com They aren't shown on travelocity.com or orbitz.com
