Of course not.

There are true illnesses of the brain just like any other part of the body, and medicine helps these just as well.

It is sad that there is so much stigma and misunderstanding about mental illness.

Nothing to do with it. I am not a doctor but I believe mental illness can be either caused for a chemical imbalance of the brain, for traumatic experiences, or in some cases for problems with the thyroid.
I don't know if possesions do happen but it they didn't, what would be the reason for the existance of exorcisms.

All sickness, mental or physical, is a form of demon possession.
But it does not always mean the demon has complete control over the one afflicted.
The "germ" is the demon.
Just as all life is from God, who is a Spirit, all forms of death are a spirit also. And diseases are a form of death.
Most people are sick and don't know it. This is in the Book of REVELATION. They are even blind and naked and don't know it.
Most people who say sickness is not a demon, are most likely mentally ill themselves. How else could they deny a Creator who's example is seen in all of creation?
Prayer and submission to the Word should remedy any sickness.

Not in the way you mean, but there is an aspect to it that has something to do with "demons".
What most people are aware of is "voices" or "commands" in their heads, or "personalities" other than themselves that seem to take over at certain times etc.
The real souce of this is in fact something called "The Reactive Mind".
This phenomena is fully explained in Chapter 4 "The "Demons"
of the book: Dianetics The Modern Science of Mental Health.
I highly recommend you read this book to fully answer your question.

Yes. . .a number of the miracles Jesus performed. . .in "casting out demons". . .were very likely mental illnesses.

In fact, during Jesus time, many believed that certain illnesses were caused by demonic possession. . .which the 21st century explains as "viral" or induced or enhanced by the human mind.

Writing this from my end does NOT detract from the power (and mission) of the G-d's Christ. . .but demonstrates that much can be done today. . .at a time that we are having an epidemic of mental illnesses (esp. depression, ADD, ADHD, etc.)

I think that believing in God and Jesus and some Virgin mother (HAHAHA) has got to be an illness of some kind...or being so easily brainwashed into believing this garbage

Do you people still believe in Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny too?!?

Because your lies are no different than these stories.

Well, personally, no, I think its simply mental illness, usually with a genetic or chemical reason. But who knows, it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong.
