What does "Dominion" really mean? Are certain Religions trying to have Dominion over the rest of us?

Why would they want to do this?

all religon is about dominion and domination. the word religon means "to bind up" what do you expect? no religon is the "one true" religon eventhough each believer thinks his/hers is.

The definition is stated above. I believe that most religions are trying to do this to people. My reason for thinking so is simple.

1) Religions usually state some type of punishment (EG, Hell, Lakes of fire, ect) for those who don't comply with the terms and conditions of the religion, must like a modern Judaical system.
2)Religions are based on faith, meaning that (people actually claim this) if all religions were proved false, they would go ahead and believe them anyway...Gee I wonder why, a bad afterlife maybe?
3)Most religions actually tell you thinks that you can't prove, things such as how a virgin can conceive, the dead coming back to life (thousands of years ago), ect. No one actually goes out of their way to find the answers to these questions though, they simply rely on whoever told them what to believe, much like a lemming.

Possible reasons for doing this? Control, imagine a judicial system were NO one can escape the eyes of the law, where if you do the crime YOU WILL DO THE TIME, no matter what. Its basically like Big Brother, you can't tell that you’re being watched, but you are, every second, of every day, of every moment of your life. Doesn't that somewhat deter you away from going against the religion?

Religion is nothing more than a business...the Vatican is worth over 8 BILLION dollars...funny huh

i think some are really pushy in their beliefs ... not sure why... i just try to keep my heart right with God, read and follow my Bible, and like it says... beware of false prophets...
