I think that is an awesome idea. I too hope to get involved someday with a project like that. The more time there is a good influence in a kids life the more likely they are to make good decisions. I say start them young. In my town the YMCA has a program with one of the local elementary schools, which is an after school program. Most of the kids in the program comes from poor areas, with broken homes and turn to the wrong people for guidance. Programs like the after school ones or a great place for youth to hang out is such a great idea. Start going to community events and meetings to find out what you can do to get involved.

I could give you the perfect establishment to try and put into place but then I have to eradicate your memory.
Here's an idea though, take a look around you and observe what type of people there are in your community. There's always some type of 'nitch' in need of being filled. Just do a little research, some observation and an idea will hit you like a ton of brick.
Keep your mind focused, your heart in the right place and the body shall have no choice but to follow.
If you're still in search of a business afterwards, just email me and let me know. Maybe our partnership can provide light to a drab and darkened landscape.
Peace,

Your dream is a good one. In my town, they tore down the community recreation center to make room for a new post office. The function of distributing sports equipment for little league is handled from a new building, but it doesn't have pool tables, ping-pong tables, tennis and basketball courts at a central location anymore.
But you will be competing against distractions aplenty that weren't around when I was growing up, computers, video games, there were only 3 TV networks so not a lot of compelling television, etc.
But your dream is a worthy one. Like the boys and girls clubs of America. Good luck in your endeavor.

Talk to them about the dangers of the streets; death, assualt, jail time, drugs, sex crimes, rape (now on both boys and girls). Every youngster who commits a crime should do so much time at the local jail(not confined within the same cell with others) and local hospital emergency room to see the dangers of the streets, drugs, traffic violations ect.
Children should be made aware that children having children only puts more children on the streets. Education is a must to keep kids off the street.

I don really know whether u knew this but.... In my view, the best way to keep teens out of trouble and off the streets will consist of family upbringing, their peers they are mixing with, teachings from both parents and schools and lots and lots of hard work from ppl like u. u don have to buy anything or build anything but if u really do it might be a starting point.
Wat ever u intent to do, if its possible to get parents of the teens or even the teens themselves to join, it is a great start. try promoting ur ideas to others as it might be easier to have great support to accomplish ur dreams. Gd Luck.

this is a great idea. i think that you should advertise your idea to the public. then im sure people would invest their money and time into helping you build this foundation...for activities i think you should have sports...because many kids enjoy playing competitive sports...and take the kids on like field trips. have dance lessons too. and projects where they help out the community so they learn how to make a difference.

Perhaps for now you can consider being a mentor to teens at risk, like at local high schools.
