Tower of Babel, see the Old Testament.

God made us all unique, and we should be thankful of it. Sometimes it isn't important to understand the why.....just that he loves us.

When the occupants were allowed to leave the ark, God told them to go forth into all areas of the earth and be fruitful and multiply.

Noah and his sons and their wives really liked the area that they were living in after leaving the ark. It was perfect climate for them, and the land was very fertile.

As time went on, they knew and remembered that God had told them to scatter out to other parts of the earth, but they became more rooted right where they were at.

Worried that GOD would make them leave, they started to build a tower, with the intention that if God scattered them, the tower would be tall enough to be seen from very far away, and they would be able to find their way back "home"

This tower took many years to build, and in the process, the people started getting prideful about it, and figured that if they could make the tower tall enough to reach heaven, they wouldnt have to worry about obeying God, they could just climb up there.

God saw all this and did scatter the people "literally" one moment they were going about their daily life and the next they were in some land foreign to them and speaking a new language that they had never know before.

Now when they met someoe when they were traveling, they could no longer understand each other, and communication became difficult. Much knowledge was "lost" with this confusing of the languages.

Animals, not much is written about communicating with the animals. We know that Eve did not find in unusual to speak to the serpent. What we arent told is when the ability to communicate with the animals was lost. We do know, that after the animals left the ark, God said from this point forward the animals will fear you, as you will now hunt them and use them for food.

If you look at the idea that he doesn't exist and things just happened on their own you could see why we have different languages. People just moved into different places even before language was a common thing and it just developed on it's own in various places.

As far as the animals, I'm not sure what you mean.

For those who answer the Tower of Babel story I have a question: Why would he do such a vicious thing to mankind by confusing their language. Didn't he realize the consequences of such a dastardly deed? Couldn't he just let them build the thing, where was it going to go? Wouldn't they look more foolish if he just let them build it? Instead he does something to mankind that would have set them back hundreds of years. Think of all the distrust that would be encountered by confusing their language. If a human did something similar he would be considered a brutal leader.

We did not always speak different languages, God confused the languages when the people of Babel tried to make a tower that reached to Heaven.

Go to the science section and hunt for linguists & anthropologists. In this section you are likely to get a lot of babble about Babel - which is hands down one of the funniest of all the bible stories. God thought we'd got too arrogant and he gave us all different languages. Well, THAT worked like a charm, didn't it? We're as humble as humble-pie since then.

What someone has to explain is how we dare to teach this dribble to innocent children. It's a disgrace!

Read the story in the Bible about the Tower of Babel. That is one theory about why we speak different languages.

When God created man they all spoke the same language until they all started fighting then he made them all speak different languages so they wouldnt fight while building the tower.

It has to be this way. So the Bible can be translated so many different ways and abused by those who chose to do so.

The TRUTH is there, if you are seeking it. If God is not in your eyes FIRST, you will not have truth.

this world is not about people and jobs. this world is about people finding God, and rewarded a Spiritual Kingdom.

In the Bible, God split up people in to different language because he is a dick and doesn't like it when people work together to try and improve their lives.
